Versliste
And the people were as murmurers, {Or, which was evil}speaking evil in the ears of Jehovah: and when Jehovah heard it, his anger was kindled; and the fire of Jehovah burnt among them, and devoured in the uttermost part of the camp.
And the people cried unto Moses; and Moses prayed unto Jehovah, and the fire abated.
And the name of that place was called {That is, Burning.}Taberah, because the fire of Jehovah burnt among them.
Wherefore doth a living man complain, {Or, a man that is in his sins}a man for the punishment of his sins?
Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not?
And we know that to them that love God {Some ancient authorities read God worketh all things with them for good.}all things work together for good, even to them that are called according to his purpose.
Rejoice always;
pray without ceasing;
in everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus to you-ward.
All the days of the afflicted are evil;But he that is of a cheerful heart hath a continual feast.
Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therein to be content.
But godliness with contentment is great gain:
{Greek: Let your turn of mind be free.}Be ye free from the love of money; content with such things as ye have: for himself hath said, {Deuteronomy 31:6; Joshua 1:5}I will in no wise fail thee, neither will I in any wise forsake thee.
And the people were as murmurers, {Or, which was evil}speaking evil in the ears of Jehovah: and when Jehovah heard it, his anger was kindled; and the fire of Jehovah burnt among them, and devoured in the uttermost part of the camp.
