Bless Jehovah, O my soul.O Jehovah my God, thou art very great;Thou art clothed with honor and majesty:
Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment;Who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain;
Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters;Who maketh the clouds his chariot;Who walketh upon the wings of the wind;
Who maketh {Or, his angels winds}winds his messengers;Flames of fire his ministers;
Bless Jehovah, O my soul.O Jehovah my God, thou art very great;Thou art clothed with honor and majesty:
Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment;Who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain;
Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters;Who maketh the clouds his chariot;Who walketh upon the wings of the wind;
Who maketh {Or, his angels winds}winds his messengers;Flames of fire his ministers;
{Hebrew: He founded the earth upon its bases.}Who laid the foundations of the earth,That it should not be moved for ever.
Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a vesture;The waters stood above the mountains.
At thy rebuke they fled;At the voice of thy thunder they hasted away
{Or, They went up by the mountains, they went down by the valleys}(The mountains rose, the valleys sank down)Unto the place which thou hadst founded for them.
Thou hast set a bound that they may not pass over;That they turn not again to cover the earth.
He sendeth forth springs into the valleys;They run among the mountains;
They give drink to every beast of the field;The wild asses quench their thirst.
By them the birds of the heavens have their habitation;They {Hebrew: utter their voice.}sing among the branches.
He watereth the mountains from his chambers:The earth is filled with the fruit of thy works.
He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle,And herb for the {Or, labor}service of man;That he may bring forth {Hebrew: bread.}food out of the earth,
And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, {Hebrew: To make his face to shine with oil.}And oil to make his face to shine,And bread that strengtheneth man's heart.
The trees of Jehovah are filled with moisture,The cedars of Lebanon, which he hath planted;
Where the birds make their nests:As for the stork, the fir-trees are her house.
The high mountains are for the wild goats;The rocks are a refuge for the conies.
He appointed the moon for seasons:The sun knoweth his going down.
Thou makest darkness, and it is night,Wherein all the beasts of the forest creep forth.
The young lions roar after their prey,And seek their food from God.
The sun ariseth, they get them away,And lay them down in their dens.
Man goeth forth unto his workAnd to his labor until the evening.
O Jehovah, how manifold are thy works!In wisdom hast thou made them all:The earth is full of thy {Or, creatures}riches.
Yonder is the sea, great and wide,Wherein are things creeping innumerable,Both small and great beasts.
There go the ships;There is leviathan, whom thou hast formed to play {Or, with him See Job 41:5.}therein.
These wait all for thee,That thou mayest give them their food in due season.
Thou givest unto them, they gather;Thou openest thy hand, they are satisfied with good.
Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled;Thou {Or, gatherest in}takest away their breath, they die,And return to their dust.
Thou sendest forth thy Spirit, they are created;And thou renewest the face of the ground.
Let the glory of Jehovah endure for ever;Let Jehovah rejoice in his works:
Who looketh on the earth, and it trembleth;He toucheth the mountains, and they smoke.
I will sing unto Jehovah as long as I live:I will sing praise to my God while I have any being.
Let thy meditation be sweet unto him:I will rejoice in Jehovah.
Let sinners be consumed out of the earth.And let the wicked be no more.Bless Jehovah, O my soul. {Hebrew: Hallelujah.}Praise ye Jehovah.
A Psalm of David.Bless Jehovah, O my soul;And all that is within me, bless his holy name.
Bless Jehovah, O my soul,And forget not all his benefits:
Who forgiveth all thine iniquities;Who healeth all thy diseases;
Who redeemeth thy life from {Or, the pit}destruction;Who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
Who satisfieth {Or, thy years Or, thy prime Hebrew: thine ornament.}thy desire with good things,So that thy youth is renewed like the eagle.
Jehovah executeth righteous acts,And judgments for all that are oppressed.
He made known his ways unto Moses,His doings unto the children of Israel.
Jehovah is merciful and gracious,Slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness.
He will not always chide;Neither will he keep his anger for ever.
He hath not dealt with us after our sins,Nor rewarded us after our iniquities.
For as the heavens are high above the earth,So great is his lovingkindness toward them that fear him.
As far as the east is from the west,So far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
Like as a father pitieth his children,So Jehovah pitieth them that fear him.
For he knoweth our frame;He remembereth that we are dust.
As for man, his days are as grass;As a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.
For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone;And the place thereof shall know it no more.
But the lovingkindness of Jehovah is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him,And his righteousness unto children's children;
To such as keep his covenant,And to those that remember his precepts to do them.
Jehovah hath established his throne in the heavens;And his kingdom ruleth over all.
Bless Jehovah, ye his angels,That are mighty in strength, that fulfil his word,Hearkening unto the voice of his word.
Bless Jehovah, all ye his hosts,Ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.
Bless Jehovah, all ye his works,In all places of his dominion:Bless Jehovah, O my soul.
Bless Jehovah, O my soul.O Jehovah my God, thou art very great;Thou art clothed with honor and majesty:

Worthy art thou, our Lord and our God, to receive the glory and the honor and the power: for thou didst create all things, and because of thy will they were, and were created.
For the Chief Musician; set to the Gittith. A Psalm of David.O Jehovah, our Lord,How excellent is thy name in all the earth,Who hast set thy glory {Or, above}upon the heavens!
Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou established strength,Because of thine adversaries,That thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.
When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers,The moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
What is man, that thou art mindful of him?And the son of man, that thou visitest him?
For thou hast made him but little lower than {Or, the angels Hebrew: Elohim.}God,And crownest him with glory and honor.
Thou makest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands;Thou hast put all things under his feet:
All sheep and oxen,Yea, and the beasts of the field,
The birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea,Whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.
O Jehovah, our Lord,How excellent is thy name in all the earth!
When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers,The moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.The heavens declare the glory of God;And the firmament showeth his handiwork.
Day unto day uttereth speech,And night unto night showeth knowledge.
There is no speech nor language;Their voice is not heard.
Their line is gone out through all the earth,And their words to the end of the world.In them hath he set a {Hebrew: tent.}tabernacle for the sun,
Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,And rejoiceth as a strong man to run his course.
His going forth is from the end of the heavens,And his circuit unto the ends of it;And there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.
The law of Jehovah is perfect, restoring the soul:The testimony of Jehovah is sure, making wise the simple.
The precepts of Jehovah are right, rejoicing the heart:The commandment of Jehovah is pure, enlightening the eyes.
The fear of Jehovah is clean, enduring for ever:The ordinances of Jehovah are true, and righteous altogether.
More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold;Sweeter also than honey and the droppings of the honeycomb.
Moreover by them is thy servant warned:In keeping them there is great reward.
Who can discern his errors?Clear thou me from hidden faults.
Keep back thy servant also {Or, from the proud}from presumptuous sins;Let them not have dominion over me:Then shall I be upright,And I shall be clear from great transgression.
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heartBe acceptable in thy sight,O Jehovah, my rock, and my redeemer.

A Psalm of David.Ascribe unto Jehovah, O ye {Or, sons of God}sons of the {Or, gods See Exodus 15:11.}mighty,Ascribe unto Jehovah glory and strength.
Ascribe unto Jehovah the glory due unto his name;Worship Jehovah {Or, in the beauty of holiness}in holy array.
The voice of Jehovah is upon the waters:The God of glory thundereth,Even Jehovah upon {Or, great}many waters.
The voice of Jehovah is powerful;The voice of Jehovah is full of majesty.
The voice of Jehovah breaketh the cedars;Yea, Jehovah breaketh in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.
He maketh them also to skip like a calf;Lebanon and Sirion like a young wild-ox.
The voice of Jehovah {Or, heweth out flames of fire}cleaveth the flames of fire.
The voice of Jehovah shaketh the wilderness;Jehovah shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh.
The voice of Jehovah maketh the hinds to calve,And strippeth the forests bare:And in his temple everything saith, Glory.
Jehovah sat as King at the Flood;Yea, Jehovah sitteth as King for ever.
Jehovah will give strength unto his people;Jehovah will bless his people with peace.
The voice of Jehovah is upon the waters:The God of glory thundereth,Even Jehovah upon {Or, great}many waters.

Who looketh on the earth, and it trembleth;He toucheth the mountains, and they smoke.
For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity; {Or, so that they are}that they may be without excuse:
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
And the earth was waste and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep: and the Spirit of God {Or, was brooding upon}moved upon the face of the waters.
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day.
And God said, Let there be a {Hebrew: expanse.}firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
And God called the firmament Heaven. And there was evening and there was morning, a second day.
And God said, Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.
And God said, Let the earth put forth grass, herbs yielding seed, and fruit-trees bearing fruit after their kind, wherein is the seed thereof, upon the earth: and it was so.
And the earth brought forth grass, herbs yielding seed after their kind, and trees bearing fruit, wherein is the seed thereof, after their kind: and God saw that it was good.
And there was evening and there was morning, a third day.
And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years:
and let them be for lights in the firmament of heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.
And God made the two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
And God set them in the firmament of heaven to give light upon the earth,
and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.
And there was evening and there was morning, a fourth day.
And God said, Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth {Hebrew: on the face of the expanse of the heavens.}in the open firmament of heaven.
And God created the great sea-monsters, and every living creature that moveth, wherewith the waters swarmed, after their kind, and every winged bird after its kind: and God saw that it was good.
And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.
And there was evening and there was morning, a fifth day.
And God said, Let the earth bring forth living creatures after their kind, cattle, and creeping things, and beasts of the earth after their kind: and it was so.
And God made the beasts of the earth after their kind, and the cattle after their kind, and everything that creepeth upon the ground after its kind: and God saw that it was good.
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the heavens, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
And God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
And God blessed them: and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the heavens, and over every living thing that {Or, creepeth}moveth upon the earth.
And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb yielding seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for food:
and to every beast of the earth, and to every bird of the heavens, and to everything that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is {Hebrew: a living soul.}life, I have given every green herb for food: and it was so.
And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.
And the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
And on the seventh day God finished his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
And God blessed the seventh day, and hallowed it; because that in it he rested from all his work which God had created and made.
These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that Jehovah God made earth and heaven.
And no plant of the field was yet in the earth, and no herb of the field had yet sprung up; for Jehovah God had not caused it to rain upon the earth: and there was not a man to till the ground;
but there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.
And Jehovah God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
And Jehovah God planted a garden eastward, in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.
And out of the ground made Jehovah God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became four heads.
The name of the first is Pishon: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold;
and the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the {Or, beryl}onyx stone.
And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Cush.
And the name of the third river is {That is, Tigris.}Hiddekel: that is it which goeth {Or, toward the east of}in front of Assyria. And the fourth river is the Euphrates.
And Jehovah God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
And Jehovah God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
And Jehovah God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a help {Or, answering to}meet for him.
And out of the ground Jehovah God formed every beast of the field, and every bird of the heavens; and brought them unto the man to see what he would call them: and whatsoever the man called every living creature, that was the name thereof.
And the man gave names to all cattle, and to the birds of the heavens, and to every beast of the field; but for {Or, Adam}man there was not found a help meet for him.
And Jehovah God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof:
and the rib, which Jehovah God had taken from the man, {Hebrew: builded he into.}made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
And the man said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called {Hebrew: Isshah.}Woman, because she was taken out of {Hebrew: Ish.}Man.
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
{Hebrew: Hallelujah.}Praise ye Jehovah.Praise ye Jehovah from the heavens:Praise him in the heights.
Praise ye him, all his angels:Praise ye him, all his host.
Praise ye him, sun and moon:Praise him, all ye stars of light.
Praise him, ye heavens of heavens,And ye waters that are above the heavens.
Let them praise the name of Jehovah;For he commanded, and they were created.
He hath also established them for ever and ever:He hath made a decree {Or, which none shall transgress}which shall not pass away.

Kings of the earth and all peoples;Princes and all judges of the earth;
Both young men and virgins;Old men and children:
Let them praise the name of Jehovah;For his name alone is exalted;His glory is above the earth and the heavens.
And he hath lifted up {Or, a horn for his people. A praise for all his saints: Even for &c.}the horn of his people,The praise of all his saints;Even of the children of Israel, a people near unto him. {Hebrew: Hallelujah.}Praise ye Jehovah.

But the lovingkindness of Jehovah is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him,And his righteousness unto children's children;
A Psalm of David.Bless Jehovah, O my soul;And all that is within me, bless his holy name.
Bless Jehovah, O my soul,And forget not all his benefits:
Who forgiveth all thine iniquities;Who healeth all thy diseases;
Who redeemeth thy life from {Or, the pit}destruction;Who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;

{Or, Happy}Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the wicked,Nor standeth in the way of sinners,Nor sitteth in the seat of scoffers:
But his delight is in the law of Jehovah;And on his law doth he meditate day and night.
And he shall be like a tree planted by the streams of water,That bringeth forth its fruit in its season,Whose leaf also doth not wither; {Or, in whatsoever he doeth he shall prosper}And whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
The wicked are not so,But are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
Therefore the wicked shall not stand in the judgment,Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
For Jehovah knoweth the way of the righteous;But the way of the wicked shall perish.
For the Chief Musician; set to {That is, The hind of the morning.}Aijeleth hash-Shahar. A Psalm of David.My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? {Or, Far from my help are the words of my groaning Hebrew: roaring.}Why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my groaning?
O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou answerest not;And in the night season, {Or, but find no rest}and am not silent.
But thou art holy,O thou that {Or, art enthroned upon}inhabitest the praises of Israel.
Our fathers trusted in thee:They trusted, and thou didst deliver them.
They cried unto thee, and were delivered:They trusted in thee, and were not put to shame.
But I am a worm, and no man;A reproach of men, and despised of the people.
All they that see me laugh me to scorn:They shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,
{Or, He trusted on Jehovah, that he would deliver him}Commit thyself unto Jehovah; let him deliver him:Let him rescue him, seeing he delighteth in him.
But thou art he that took me out of the womb;Thou didst make me trust when I was upon my mother's breasts.
I was cast upon thee from the womb;Thou art my God since my mother bare me.
Be not far from me; for trouble is near;For there is none to help.
Many bulls have compassed me;Strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round.
They gape upon me with their mouth,As a ravening and a roaring lion.
I am poured out like water,And all my bones are out of joint:My heart is like wax;It is melted within me.
My strength is dried up like a potsherd;And my tongue cleaveth to my jaws;And thou hast brought me into the dust of death.
For dogs have compassed me:A company of evil-doers have inclosed me; {So the Septuagint Version, Vulgate, and Syriac. The Hebrew text as pointed reads, Like a lion, my &c.}They pierced my hands and my feet.
I may count all my bones.They look and stare upon me;
They part my garments among them,And upon my vesture do they cast lots.
But be not thou far off, O Jehovah:O thou my succor, haste thee to help me.
Deliver my soul from the sword,My {Or, dear life Hebrew: only one.}darling from the power of the dog.
Save me from the lion's mouth;Yea, from the horns of the wild-oxen thou hast answered me.
I will declare thy name unto my brethren:In the midst of the assembly will I praise thee.
Ye that fear Jehovah, praise him;All ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him;And stand in awe of him, all ye the seed of Israel.
For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted;Neither hath he hid his face from him;But when he cried unto him, he heard.
Of thee cometh my praise in the great assembly:I will pay my vows before them that fear him.
The meek shall eat and be satisfied;They shall praise Jehovah that seek after him:Let your heart live for ever.
All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn unto Jehovah;And all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee.
For the kingdom is Jehovah's;And he is the ruler over the nations.
All the fat ones of the earth shall eat and worship:All they that go down to the dust shall bow before him,Even he that cannot keep his soul alive.
A seed shall serve him;It shall be {Or, counted unto the Lord for his generations}told of the Lord unto the next generation.
They shall come and shall declare his righteousnessUnto a people that shall be born, that he hath done it.
A Psalm of David.Bless Jehovah, O my soul;And all that is within me, bless his holy name.
Bless Jehovah, O my soul,And forget not all his benefits:

Bless Jehovah, all ye his works,In all places of his dominion:Bless Jehovah, O my soul.
Bless Jehovah, O my soul.O Jehovah my God, thou art very great;Thou art clothed with honor and majesty:
Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment;Who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain;
Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters;Who maketh the clouds his chariot;Who walketh upon the wings of the wind;
Who maketh {Or, his angels winds}winds his messengers;Flames of fire his ministers;
He sendeth forth springs into the valleys;They run among the mountains;
The trees of Jehovah are filled with moisture,The cedars of Lebanon, which he hath planted;
For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity; {Or, so that they are}that they may be without excuse:
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day.
And this is the message which we have heard from him and announce unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
who only hath immortality, dwelling in light unapproachable; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honor and power eternal. Amen.
And his brightness was as the light;He had {Hebrew: horns.}rays coming forth {Or, at his side}from his hand;And there was the hiding of his power.
No man hath seen God at any time; {Many very ancient authorities read God only begotten.}the only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.The heavens declare the glory of God;And the firmament showeth his handiwork.
Their line is gone out through all the earth,And their words to the end of the world.In them hath he set a {Hebrew: tent.}tabernacle for the sun,
It is he that sitteth above the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as {Or, gauze}a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in;
And God said, Let there be a {Hebrew: expanse.}firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
And God called the firmament Heaven. And there was evening and there was morning, a second day.
The {Or, oracle concerning}burden of Egypt.Behold, Jehovah rideth upon a swift cloud, and cometh unto Egypt: and the idols of Egypt shall tremble at his presence; and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst of it.
And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly;Yea, he soared upon the wings of the wind.
And of the angels he saith, {Psalm 104:4}Who maketh his angels winds,And his ministers a flame of fire:
for our God is a consuming fire.
