A Psalm of David.
Ascribe unto Jehovah, O ye {Or, sons of God}sons of the {Or, gods See Exodus 15:11.}mighty,
Ascribe unto Jehovah glory and strength.
Ascribe unto Jehovah the glory due unto his name;
Worship Jehovah {Or, in the beauty of holiness}in holy array.
The voice of Jehovah is upon the waters:
The God of glory thundereth,
Even Jehovah upon {Or, great}many waters.
The voice of Jehovah is powerful;
The voice of Jehovah is full of majesty.
The voice of Jehovah breaketh the cedars;
Yea, Jehovah breaketh in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.
He maketh them also to skip like a calf;
Lebanon and Sirion like a young wild-ox.
The voice of Jehovah {Or, heweth out flames of fire}cleaveth the flames of fire.
The voice of Jehovah shaketh the wilderness;
Jehovah shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh.
The voice of Jehovah maketh the hinds to calve,
And strippeth the forests bare:
And in his temple everything saith, Glory.
Jehovah sat as King at the Flood;
Yea, Jehovah sitteth as King for ever.
Jehovah will give strength unto his people;
Jehovah will bless his people with peace.
Querverweise zu Psalm 29,2 Ps 29,2
Ascribe unto Jehovah, ye kindreds of the peoples,Ascribe unto Jehovah glory and strength;
Honor and majesty are before him:Strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.
One thing have I asked of Jehovah, that will I seek after:That I may dwell in the house of Jehovah all the days of my life,To behold {Or, the pleasantness}the beauty of Jehovah,And to {Or, consider his temple}inquire in his temple.
And let the {Or, beauty}favor of the Lord our God be upon us;And establish thou the work of our hands upon us;Yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.
Ascribe unto Jehovah the glory due unto his name:Bring an offering, and come before him;Worship Jehovah {Or, in the beauty of holiness}in holy array.
Ascribe unto Jehovah the glory due unto his name:Bring an offering, and come into his courts.
Oh worship Jehovah {Or, in the beauty of holiness}in holy array:Tremble before him, all the earth.
For thou, Jehovah, art most high above all the earth:Thou art exalted far above all gods.
And when he had taken counsel with the people, he appointed them that should sing unto Jehovah, and give praise {Or, in the beauty of holiness}in holy array, as they went out before the army, and say, Give thanks unto Jehovah; for his lovingkindness endureth for ever.
From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the sameJehovah's name is to be praised.
Jehovah is high above all nations,And his glory above the heavens.
Who is like unto Jehovah our God,That hath his seat on high,
That humbleth himself {Or, to regard the heavens and the earth}to beholdThe things that are in heaven and in the earth?
Great is Jehovah, and greatly to be praised;And his greatness is unsearchable.
One generation shall laud thy works to another,And shall declare thy mighty acts.
Of the glorious majesty of thine honor,And of thy wondrous works, will I meditate.
And men shall speak of the might of thy terrible acts;And I will declare thy greatness.
They shall utter the memory of thy great goodness,And shall sing of thy righteousness.
