Versliste
O give thanks unto Jehovah; for he is good;For his lovingkindness endureth for ever.
Let the redeemed of Jehovah say so,Whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the adversary,
And gathered out of the lands,From the east and from the west,From the north and {Hebrew: from the sea.}from the south.
They wandered in the wilderness in a desert way;They found no city of habitation.
Hungry and thirsty,Their soul fainted in them.
Then they cried unto Jehovah in their trouble,And he delivered them out of their distresses,
He led them also by a straight way,That they might go to a city of habitation.
Oh that men would praise Jehovah for his lovingkindness,And for his wonderful works to the children of men!
For he satisfieth the longing soul,And the hungry soul he filleth with good.
Such as sat in darkness and in the shadow of death,Being bound in affliction and iron,
Because they rebelled against the words of God,And contemned the counsel of the Most High:
Therefore he brought down their heart with labor;They fell down, and there was none to help.
Then they cried unto Jehovah in their trouble,And he saved them out of their distresses.
He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death,And brake their bonds in sunder.
Oh that men would praise Jehovah for his lovingkindness,And for his wonderful works to the children of men!
For he hath broken the gates of brass,And cut the bars of iron in sunder.
Fools because of {Hebrew: the way of their transgression.}their transgression,And because of their iniquities, are afflicted.
Their soul abhorreth all manner of food;And they draw near unto the gates of death.
Then they cry unto Jehovah in their trouble,And he saveth them out of their distresses.
He sendeth his word, and healeth them,And delivereth them from their {Hebrew: pits.}destructions.
Oh that men would praise Jehovah for his lovingkindness,And for his wonderful works to the children of men!
And let them offer the sacrifices of thanksgiving,And declare his works with singing.
They that go down to the sea in ships,That do business in great waters;
These see the works of Jehovah,And his wonders in the deep.
For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind,Which lifteth up the waves thereof.
They mount up to the heavens, they go down again to the depths:Their soul melteth away because of trouble.
They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man,And {Hebrew: all their wisdom is swallowed up.}are at their wits' end.
Then they cry unto Jehovah in their trouble,And he bringeth them out of their distresses.
He maketh the storm a calm,So that the waves thereof are still.
Then are they glad because they are quiet;So he bringeth them unto their desired haven.
Oh that men would praise Jehovah for his lovingkindness,And for his wonderful works to the children of men!
Let them exalt him also in the assembly of the people,And praise him in the seat of the elders.
He turneth rivers into a wilderness,And watersprings into a thirsty ground;
A fruitful land into a salt desert,For the wickedness of them that dwell therein.
He turneth a wilderness into a pool of water,And a dry land into watersprings.
And there he maketh the hungry to dwell,That they may prepare a city of habitation,
And sow fields, and plant vineyards,And get them fruits of increase.
He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly;And he suffereth not their cattle to decrease.
Again, they are diminished and bowed downThrough oppression, trouble, and sorrow.
He poureth contempt upon princes,And causeth them to wander in the waste, where there is no way.
Yet setteth he the needy on high from affliction,And maketh him families like a flock.
The upright shall see it, and be glad;And all iniquity shall stop her mouth.
Whoso is wise will give heed to these things;And they will consider the lovingkindnesses of Jehovah.
Save us, O Jehovah our God,And gather us from among the nations,To give thanks unto thy holy name,And to triumph in thy praise.
O give thanks unto Jehovah; for he is good;For his lovingkindness endureth for ever.

{Hebrew: Hallelujah.}Praise ye Jehovah.Oh give thanks unto Jehovah; for he is good;For his lovingkindness endureth for ever.
For thy lovingkindness is great above the heavens;And thy truth reacheth unto the skies.
{Or, Only}Surely goodness and lovingkindness shall follow me all the days of my life;And I shall dwell in the house of Jehovah {Hebrew: for length of days.}for ever.
Now the God of peace, who brought again from the dead the great shepherd of the sheep {Or, by Greek: in.}with the blood of an eternal covenant, even our Lord Jesus,
Oh give thanks unto Jehovah; for he is good;For his lovingkindness endureth for ever.
Oh give thanks unto the God of gods;For his lovingkindness endureth for ever.
Oh give thanks unto the Lord of lords;For his lovingkindness endureth for ever:
To him who alone doeth great wonders;For his lovingkindness endureth for ever:
To him that by understanding made the heavens;For his lovingkindness endureth for ever:
To him that spread forth the earth above the waters;For his lovingkindness endureth for ever:
To him that made great lights;For his lovingkindness endureth for ever:
The sun to rule by day;For his lovingkindness endureth for ever;
The moon and stars to rule by night;For his lovingkindness endureth for ever:
To him that smote Egypt in their first-born;For his lovingkindness endureth for ever;
And brought out Israel from among them;For his lovingkindness endureth for ever;
With a strong hand, and with an outstretched arm;For his lovingkindness endureth for ever:
To him that divided the Red Sea in sunder;For his lovingkindness endureth for ever;
And made Israel to pass through the midst of it;For his lovingkindness endureth for ever;
But {Hebrew: shook off.}overthrew Pharaoh and his host in the Red Sea;For his lovingkindness endureth for ever:
To him that led his people through the wilderness;For his lovingkindness endureth for ever:
To him that smote great kings;For his lovingkindness endureth for ever;
And slew famous kings;For his lovingkindness endureth for ever:
Sihon king of the Amorites;For his lovingkindness endureth forever;
And Og king of Bashan;For his lovingkindness endureth for ever;
And gave their land for a heritage;For his lovingkindness endureth for ever;
Even a heritage unto Israel his servant;For his lovingkindness endureth for ever:
Who remembered us in our low estate;For his lovingkindness endureth for ever;
And hath delivered us from our adversaries;For his lovingkindness endureth for ever:
Who giveth food to all flesh;For his lovingkindness endureth for ever.
Oh give thanks unto the God of heaven;For his lovingkindness endureth for ever.
O give thanks unto Jehovah; for he is good;For his lovingkindness endureth for ever.
And they sang one to another in praising and giving thanks unto Jehovah, saying, For he is good, for his lovingkindness endureth for ever toward Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised Jehovah, because the foundation of the house of Jehovah was laid.
the voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that say, Give thanks to Jehovah of hosts, for Jehovah is good, for his lovingkindness endureth for ever; and of them that bring sacrifices of thanksgiving into the house of Jehovah. For I will cause the captivity of the land to return as at the first, saith Jehovah.
{Hebrew: Hallelujah.}Praise ye Jehovah.Oh give thanks unto Jehovah; for he is good;For his lovingkindness endureth for ever.
Who can utter the mighty acts of Jehovah,Or show forth all his praise?
Blessed are they that keep justice,And he that doeth righteousness at all times.
Remember me, O Jehovah, with the favor that thou bearest unto thy people;Oh visit me with thy salvation,
That I may see the prosperity of thy chosen,That I may rejoice in the gladness of thy nation,That I may glory with thine inheritance.
We have sinned with our fathers,We have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly.
Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt;They remembered not the multitude of thy lovingkindnesses,But were rebellious at the sea, even at the Red Sea.
Nevertheless he saved them for his name's sake,That he might make his mighty power to be known.
He rebuked the Red Sea also, and it was dried up:So he led them through the depths, as through a {Or, pasture-land}wilderness.
And he saved them from the hand of him that hated them,And redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.
And the waters covered their adversaries;There was not one of them left.
Then believed they his words;They sang his praise.
They soon forgat his works;They waited not for his counsel,
But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness,And tempted God in the desert.
And he gave them their request,But sent leanness into their soul.
They envied Moses also in the camp,And Aaron the {Or, holy one}saint of Jehovah.
The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan,And covered the company of Abiram.
And a fire was kindled in their company;The flame burned up the wicked.
They made a calf in Horeb,And worshipped a molten image.
Thus they changed their gloryFor the likeness of an ox that eateth grass.
They forgat God their Saviour,Who had done great things in Egypt,
Wondrous works in the land of Ham,And terrible things by the Red Sea.
Therefore he said that he would destroy them,Had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach,To turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them.
Yea, they despised the pleasant land,They believed not his word,
But murmured in their tents,And hearkened not unto the voice of Jehovah.
Therefore he {Hebrew: lifted up his hand.}sware unto them,That he would {Hebrew: make them fall.}overthrow them in the wilderness,
And that he would overthrow their seed among the nations,And scatter them in the lands.
They joined themselves also unto Baal-peor,And ate the sacrifices of the dead.
Thus they provoked him to anger with their doings;And the plague brake in upon them.
Then stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment;And so the plague was stayed.
And that was reckoned unto him for righteousness,Unto all generations for evermore.
They angered him also at the waters of {Or, strife}Meribah,So that it went ill with Moses for their sakes;
Because they were rebellious against his spirit,And he spake unadvisedly with his lips.
They did not destroy the peoples,As Jehovah commanded them,
But mingled themselves with the nations,And learned their works,
And served their idols,Which became a snare unto them.
Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto demons,
And shed innocent blood,Even the blood of their sons and of their daughters,Whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan;And the land was polluted with blood.
Thus were they defiled with their works,And played the harlot in their doings.
Therefore was the wrath of Jehovah kindled against his people,And he abhorred his inheritance.
And he gave them into the hand of the nations;And they that hated them ruled over them.
Their enemies also oppressed them,And they were brought into subjection under their hand.
Many times did he deliver them;But they were rebellious in their counsel,And were brought low in their iniquity.
Nevertheless he regarded their distress,When he heard their cry:
And he remembered for them his covenant,And repented according to the multitude of his lovingkindness.
He made them also to be pitiedOf all those that carried them captive.
Save us, O Jehovah our God,And gather us from among the nations,To give thanks unto thy holy name,And to triumph in thy praise.
Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Israel,From everlasting even to everlasting.And let all the people say, Amen. {Hebrew: Hallelujah.}Praise ye Jehovah.

Oh give thanks unto Jehovah, call upon his name;Make known among the peoples his doings.
Sing unto him, sing praises unto him; {Or, Meditate}Talk ye of all his marvellous works.
Glory ye in his holy name:Let the heart of them rejoice that seek Jehovah.
Seek ye Jehovah and his strength;Seek his face evermore.
Remember his marvellous works that he hath done,His wonders, and the judgments of his mouth,
O ye seed of Abraham his servant,Ye children of Jacob, his chosen ones.
He is Jehovah our God:His judgments are in all the earth.
He hath remembered his covenant for ever,The word which he commanded to a thousand generations,
The covenant which he made with Abraham,And his oath unto Isaac,
And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a statute,To Israel for an everlasting covenant,
Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan,The {Hebrew: cord, or, line.}lot of your inheritance;
When they were but a few men in number,Yea, very few, and sojourners in it.
And they went about from nation to nation,From one kingdom to another people.
He suffered no man to do them wrong;Yea, he reproved kings for their sakes,
Saying, Touch not mine anointed ones,And do my prophets no harm.
And he called for a famine upon the land;He brake the whole staff of bread.
He sent a man before them;Joseph was sold for a servant:
His feet they hurt with fetters: {Hebrew: His soul entered into the iron.}He was laid in chains of iron,
Until the time that his word came to pass,The word of Jehovah tried him.
The king sent and loosed him;Even the ruler of peoples, and let him go free.
He made him lord of his house,And ruler of all his substance;
To bind his princes at his pleasure,And teach his elders wisdom.
Israel also came into Egypt;And Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham.
And he increased his people greatly,And made them stronger than their adversaries.
He turned their heart to hate his people,To deal subtly with his servants.
He sent Moses his servant,And Aaron whom he had chosen.
They set among them {Hebrew: the words of his signs.}his signs,And wonders in the land of Ham.
He sent darkness, and made it dark;And they rebelled not against his words.
He turned their waters into blood,And slew their fish.
Their land swarmed with frogsIn the chambers of their kings.
He spake, and there came swarms of flies,And lice in all their borders.
He gave them hail for rain,And flaming fire in their land.
He smote their vines also and their fig-trees,And brake the trees of their borders.
He spake, and the locust came,And the grasshopper, and that without number,
And did eat up every herb in their land,And did eat up the fruit of their ground.
He smote also all the first-born in their land,The {Hebrew: beginning. See Deuteronomy 21:17.}chief of all their strength.
And he brought them forth with silver and gold;And there was {Or, none that stumbled}not one feeble person among his tribes.
Egypt was glad when they departed;For the fear of them had fallen upon them.
He spread a cloud for a covering,And fire to give light in the night.
They asked, and he brought quails,And satisfied them with the bread of heaven.
He opened the rock, and waters gushed out;They ran in the dry places like a river.
For he remembered his holy word,And Abraham his servant.
And he brought forth his people with joy,And his chosen with singing.
And he gave them the lands of the nations;And they took the labor of the peoples in possession:
That they might keep his statutes,And observe his laws. {Hebrew: Hallelujah.}Praise ye Jehovah.
And he brought forth his people with joy,And his chosen with singing.
And he gave them the lands of the nations;And they took the labor of the peoples in possession:
after that he is sold he may be redeemed: one of his brethren may redeem him;
or his uncle, or his uncle's son, may redeem him, or any that is nigh of kin unto him of his family may redeem him; or if he be waxed rich, he may redeem himself.
No lion shall be there, nor shall any ravenous beast go up thereon; they shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there:
and the ransomed of Jehovah shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their heads: they shall obtain gladness and joy, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
I {Or, believed, when I spake thus}believe, for I will speak:I was greatly afflicted:
knowing that ye were redeemed, not with corruptible things, with silver or gold, from your vain manner of life handed down from your fathers;
but with precious blood, as of a lamb without spot, even the blood of Christ:
And it shall come to pass, when all these things are come upon thee, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before thee, and thou shalt call them to mind among all the nations, whither Jehovah thy God hath driven thee,
and shalt return unto Jehovah thy God, and shalt obey his voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thy heart, and with all thy soul;
that then Jehovah thy God will {Or, return to}turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the peoples, whither Jehovah thy God hath scattered thee.
If any of thine outcasts be in the uttermost parts of heaven, from thence will Jehovah thy God gather thee, and from thence will he fetch thee:
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord {Or, will again the second time recover with his hand}will set his hand again the second time to {Or, purchase See Exodus 15:16}recover the remnant of his people, that shall remain, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the {Or, coast-lands}islands of the sea.
And he will set up an ensign for the nations, and will assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.
Fear not; for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west;
I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back; bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the end of the earth;
And he shall send forth his angels with {Or, a trumpet of great sound}a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
Now in the first year of {Hebrew: Coresh.}Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of Jehovah by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, Jehovah stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,
Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth hath Jehovah, the God of heaven, given me; and he hath charged me to build him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah.
Whosoever there is among you of all his people, his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of Jehovah, the God of Israel {Or, he is the God who is in Jerusalem}(he is God), which is in Jerusalem.
and not for the nation only, but that he might also gather together into one the children of God that are scattered abroad.
For in one Spirit were we all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether bond or free; and were all made to drink of one Spirit.
