Vers

1 wird geladen ... The words of Amos, who was among the herdsmen of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.

2 wird geladen ... And he said, Jehovah will roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the {Or, habitations}pastures of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Carmel shall wither.

3 wird geladen ... Thus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of Damascus, yea, for four, I will not {Or, revoke my word}turn away {Hebrew: it (and so in verse 6, 9, &c.).}the punishment thereof; because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron.

4 wird geladen ... But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, and it shall devour the palaces of Ben-hadad.

5 wird geladen ... And I will break the bar of Damascus, and cut off {Or, him that sitteth on the throne (and so in verse 8).}the inhabitant from the valley of {That is, Vanity.}Aven, and him that holdeth the sceptre from {Or, Beth-eden}the house of Eden; and the people of Syria shall go into captivity unto Kir, saith Jehovah.

6 wird geladen ... Thus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of Gaza, yea, for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they carried away captive {Hebrew: an entire captivity.}the whole people, to deliver them up to Edom.

7 wird geladen ... But I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza, and it shall devour the palaces thereof.

8 wird geladen ... And I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, and him that holdeth the sceptre from Ashkelon; and I will turn my hand against Ekron; and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish, saith the Lord Jehovah.

9 wird geladen ... Thus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of Tyre, yea, for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they delivered up {Hebrew: an entire captivity.}the whole people to Edom, and remembered not {Hebrew: the covenant of brethren.}the brotherly covenant.

10 wird geladen ... But I will send a fire on the wall of Tyre, and it shall devour the palaces thereof.

11 wird geladen ... Thus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of Edom, yea, for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he did pursue his brother with the sword, and {Hebrew: corrupted his compassions.}did cast off all pity, and his anger did tear perpetually, and he kept his wrath for ever.

12 wird geladen ... But I will send a fire upon Teman, and it shall devour the palaces of Bozrah.

13 wird geladen ... Thus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, yea, for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have ripped up the women with child of Gilead, that they may enlarge their border.

14 wird geladen ... But I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour the palaces thereof, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind;

15 wird geladen ... and their king shall go into captivity, he and his princes together, saith Jehovah.

2Chr 26,5 wird geladen ... And he set himself to seek God in the days of Zechariah, who {Or, gave instruction}had understanding in {Hebrew: the seeing.}the vision of God: and as long as he sought Jehovah, God made him to prosper.

2Chr 26,6 wird geladen ... And he went forth and warred against the Philistines, and brake down the wall of Gath, and the wall of Jabneh, and the wall of Ashdod; and he built cities in the country of Ashdod, and among the Philistines.

2Chr 26,7 wird geladen ... And God helped him against the Philistines, and against the Arabians that dwelt in Gur-baal, and the Meunim.

2Chr 26,8 wird geladen ... And the Ammonites gave tribute to Uzziah: and his name spread abroad even to the entrance of Egypt; for he waxed exceeding strong.

2Chr 26,9 wird geladen ... Moreover Uzziah built towers in Jerusalem at the corner gate, and at the valley gate, and at the turning of the wall, and fortified them.

And he built towers in the wilderness, and hewed out many cisterns, for he had much cattle; in the lowland also, and in the {Or, table-land}plain: and he had husbandmen and vinedressers in the mountains and in {Or, Carmel See 1 Samuel 25:2}the fruitful fields; for he loved husbandry.

2Chr 26,14 wird geladen ... And Uzziah prepared for them, even for all the host, shields, and spears, and helmets, and coats of mail, and bows, and stones for slinging.

2Chr 26,15 wird geladen ... And he made in Jerusalem engines, invented by skilful men, to be on the towers and upon the {Or, corner towers}battlements, wherewith to shoot arrows and great stones. And his name spread far abroad; for he was marvellously helped, till he was strong.

2Chr 26,16 wird geladen ... But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up, {Or, to his destruction}so that he did corruptly, and he trespassed against Jehovah his God; for he went into the temple of Jehovah to burn incense upon the altar of incense.

2Chr 26,18 wird geladen ... and they withstood Uzziah the king, and said unto him, It pertaineth not unto thee, Uzziah, to burn incense unto Jehovah, but to the priests the sons of Aaron, that are consecrated to burn incense: go out of the sanctuary; for thou hast trespassed; neither shall it be for thine honor from Jehovah God.

2Chr 26,20 wird geladen ... And Azariah the chief priest, and all the priests, looked upon him, and, behold, he was leprous in his forehead, and they thrust him out quickly from thence; yea, himself hasted also to go out, because Jehovah had smitten him.

2Chr 26,21 wird geladen ... And Uzziah the king was a leper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a {Or, infirmary}separate house, being a leper; for he was cut off from the house of Jehovah: and Jotham his son was over the king's house, judging the people of the land.

2Chr 26,22 wird geladen ... Now the rest of the acts of Uzziah, first and last, did Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, write.

2Chr 26,23 wird geladen ... So Uzziah slept with his fathers; and they buried him with his fathers in the field of burial which belonged to the kings; for they said, He is a leper: and Jotham his son reigned in his stead.

Amos 7,9 wird geladen ... and the high places of Isaac shall be desolate, and the sanctuaries of Israel shall be laid waste; and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.

Amos 7,10 wird geladen ... Then Amaziah the priest of Beth-el sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, Amos hath conspired against thee in the midst of the house of Israel: the land is not able to bear all his words.

Amos 7,11 wird geladen ... For thus Amos saith, Jeroboam shall die by the sword, and Israel shall surely be led away captive out of his land.
