Vers

1 wird geladen ... The vision of Isaiah the son of Amoz, which he saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah.

2 wird geladen ... Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth; for Jehovah hath spoken: I have {Or, made great and exalted See Ezekiel 31:4.}nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me.

3 wird geladen ... The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master's crib; but Israel doth not know, my people doth not consider.

4 wird geladen ... Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evil-doers, children that deal corruptly! they have forsaken Jehovah, they have despised the Holy One of Israel, they are estranged and gone backward.

5 wird geladen ... {Or, Why should ye be stricken any more? Ye will revolt &c.}Why will ye be still stricken, that ye revolt more and more? {Or, every}the whole head is sick, and {Or, every}the whole heart faint.

6 wird geladen ... From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and fresh stripes: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with oil.

7 wird geladen ... Your country is desolate; your cities are burned with fire; your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, {Or, as the overthrow of strangers}as overthrown by strangers.

8 wird geladen ... And the daughter of Zion is left as a booth in a vineyard, as a lodge in a garden of cucumbers, as a besieged city.

9 wird geladen ... Except Jehovah of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, we should have been like unto Gomorrah.

10 wird geladen ... Hear the word of Jehovah, ye {Or, judges}rulers of Sodom; give ear unto the {Or, teaching}law of our God, ye people of Gomorrah.

11 wird geladen ... What unto me is the multitude of your sacrifices? saith Jehovah: I have had enough of the burnt-offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he-goats.

12 wird geladen ... When ye come {Or, as otherwisw read, to see my face}to appear before me, who hath required this at your hand, to trample my courts?

13 wird geladen ... Bring no more {Hebrew: an oblation of vanity.}vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; new moon and sabbath, the calling of assemblies, — {Or, I cannot away with, it is iniquity, even me solemn meeting}I cannot away with iniquity and the solemn meeting.

14 wird geladen ... Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth; they are a {Or, cumbrance}trouble unto me; I am weary of bearing them.

15 wird geladen ... And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you; yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.

16 wird geladen ... Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;

17 wird geladen ... learn to do well; seek justice, {Or, set right the oppressor}relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.

18 wird geladen ... Come now, and let us reason together, saith Jehovah: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

19 wird geladen ... If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:

20 wird geladen ... but if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword; for the mouth of Jehovah hath spoken it.

21 wird geladen ... How is the faithful city become a harlot! she that was full of justice! righteousness lodged in her, but now murderers.

22 wird geladen ... Thy silver is become dross, thy wine mixed with water.

23 wird geladen ... Thy princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves; every one loveth bribes, and followeth after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither doth the cause of the widow come unto them.

24 wird geladen ... Therefore saith the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, the Mighty One of Israel, Ah, I will ease me of mine adversaries, and avenge me of mine enemies;

25 wird geladen ... and I will {Or, bring my hand again}turn my hand upon thee, and {Hebrew: as with lye.}thoroughly purge away thy dross, and will take away all thy {Or, alloy}tin;

26 wird geladen ... and I will restore thy judges as at the first, and thy counsellors as at the beginning: afterward thou shalt be called The city of righteousness, a faithful town.

27 wird geladen ... Zion shall be redeemed with justice, and {Or, they that return of her}her converts with righteousness.

28 wird geladen ... But the {Hebrew: breaking.}destruction of transgressors and sinners shall be together, and they that forsake Jehovah shall be consumed.

29 wird geladen ... For they shall be ashamed of the {Or, terebinths}oaks which ye have desired, and ye shall be confounded for the gardens that ye have chosen.

30 wird geladen ... For ye shall be as {Or, a terebinth}an oak whose leaf fadeth, and as a garden that hath no water.

31 wird geladen ... And the strong shall be as tow, and his work as a spark; and they shall both burn together, and none shall quench them.

2Chr 26,3 wird geladen ... Sixteen years old was Uzziah when he began to reign; and he reigned fifty and two years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Jechiliah, of Jerusalem.

2Chr 26,5 wird geladen ... And he set himself to seek God in the days of Zechariah, who {Or, gave instruction}had understanding in {Hebrew: the seeing.}the vision of God: and as long as he sought Jehovah, God made him to prosper.

2Chr 26,6 wird geladen ... And he went forth and warred against the Philistines, and brake down the wall of Gath, and the wall of Jabneh, and the wall of Ashdod; and he built cities in the country of Ashdod, and among the Philistines.

2Chr 26,7 wird geladen ... And God helped him against the Philistines, and against the Arabians that dwelt in Gur-baal, and the Meunim.

2Chr 26,8 wird geladen ... And the Ammonites gave tribute to Uzziah: and his name spread abroad even to the entrance of Egypt; for he waxed exceeding strong.

2Chr 26,9 wird geladen ... Moreover Uzziah built towers in Jerusalem at the corner gate, and at the valley gate, and at the turning of the wall, and fortified them.

And he built towers in the wilderness, and hewed out many cisterns, for he had much cattle; in the lowland also, and in the {Or, table-land}plain: and he had husbandmen and vinedressers in the mountains and in {Or, Carmel See 1 Samuel 25:2}the fruitful fields; for he loved husbandry.

2Chr 26,12 wird geladen ... The whole number of the heads of fathers' houses, even the mighty men of valor, was two thousand and six hundred.

2Chr 26,13 wird geladen ... And under their hand was {Hebrew: the power of an army.}an army, three hundred thousand and seven thousand and five hundred, that made war with mighty power, to help the king against the enemy.

2Chr 26,14 wird geladen ... And Uzziah prepared for them, even for all the host, shields, and spears, and helmets, and coats of mail, and bows, and stones for slinging.

2Chr 26,15 wird geladen ... And he made in Jerusalem engines, invented by skilful men, to be on the towers and upon the {Or, corner towers}battlements, wherewith to shoot arrows and great stones. And his name spread far abroad; for he was marvellously helped, till he was strong.

2Chr 26,16 wird geladen ... But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up, {Or, to his destruction}so that he did corruptly, and he trespassed against Jehovah his God; for he went into the temple of Jehovah to burn incense upon the altar of incense.

2Chr 26,17 wird geladen ... And Azariah the priest went in after him, and with him fourscore priests of Jehovah, that were valiant men:

2Chr 26,18 wird geladen ... and they withstood Uzziah the king, and said unto him, It pertaineth not unto thee, Uzziah, to burn incense unto Jehovah, but to the priests the sons of Aaron, that are consecrated to burn incense: go out of the sanctuary; for thou hast trespassed; neither shall it be for thine honor from Jehovah God.

2Chr 26,20 wird geladen ... And Azariah the chief priest, and all the priests, looked upon him, and, behold, he was leprous in his forehead, and they thrust him out quickly from thence; yea, himself hasted also to go out, because Jehovah had smitten him.

2Chr 26,21 wird geladen ... And Uzziah the king was a leper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a {Or, infirmary}separate house, being a leper; for he was cut off from the house of Jehovah: and Jotham his son was over the king's house, judging the people of the land.

2Chr 26,22 wird geladen ... Now the rest of the acts of Uzziah, first and last, did Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, write.

2Chr 26,23 wird geladen ... So Uzziah slept with his fathers; and they buried him with his fathers in the field of burial which belonged to the kings; for they said, He is a leper: and Jotham his son reigned in his stead.
