Vers

1 wird geladen ... Hear ye now what Jehovah saith: Arise, contend thou before the mountains, and let the hills hear thy voice.

2 wird geladen ... Hear, O ye mountains, Jehovah's controversy, and ye enduring foundations of the earth; for Jehovah hath a controversy with his people, and he will contend with Israel.

3 wird geladen ... O my people, what have I done unto thee? and wherein have I wearied thee? testify against me.

4 wird geladen ... For I brought thee up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee out of the house of bondage; and I sent before thee Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.

5 wird geladen ... O my people, remember now what Balak king of Moab devised, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him; remember from Shittim unto Gilgal, that ye may know the righteous acts of Jehovah.

6 wird geladen ... Wherewith shall I come before Jehovah, and bow myself before the high God? shall I come before him with burnt-offerings, with calves a year old?

7 wird geladen ... will Jehovah be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my first-born for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?

8 wird geladen ... He hath showed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth Jehovah require of thee, but to do justly, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with thy God?

9 wird geladen ... The voice of Jehovah crieth unto the city, and the man of wisdom will {According to Septuagint Version, Vulgate, and Syriac, fear.}see thy name: hear ye the rod, and who hath appointed it.

10 wird geladen ... Are there yet treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and a scant {Hebrew: ephah.}measure that is abominable?

11 wird geladen ... Shall I be pure with wicked balances, and with a bag of deceitful weights?

12 wird geladen ... For the rich men thereof are full of violence, and the inhabitants thereof have spoken lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their mouth.

13 wird geladen ... Therefore I also have smitten thee with a grievous wound; I have made thee desolate because of thy sins.

14 wird geladen ... Thou shalt eat, but not be satisfied; and thy {Or, emptiness}humiliation shall be in the midst of thee: and thou shalt put away, but shalt not save; and that which thou savest will I give up to the sword.

15 wird geladen ... Thou shalt sow, but shalt not reap; thou shalt tread the olives, but shalt not anoint thee with oil; and the vintage, but shalt not drink the wine.

16 wird geladen ... For the statutes of Omri are kept, and all the works of the house of Ahab, and ye walk in their counsels; that I may make thee {Or, an astonishment}a desolation, and the inhabitants thereof a hissing: and ye shall bear the reproach of my people.

5Mo 8,2 wird geladen ... And thou shalt remember all the way which Jehovah thy God hath led thee these forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble thee, to prove thee, to know what was in thy heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or not.

4Mo 22,1 wird geladen ... And the children of Israel journeyed, and encamped in the plains of Moab beyond the Jordan at Jericho.

4Mo 22,3 wird geladen ... And Moab was sore afraid of the people, because they were many: and Moab was distressed because of the children of Israel.

4Mo 22,4 wird geladen ... And Moab said unto the elders of Midian, Now will {Hebrew: the assembly.}this multitude lick up all that is round about us, as the ox licketh up the grass of the field. And Balak the son of Zippor was king of Moab at that time.

And he sent messengers unto Balaam the son of Beor, to Pethor, which is by the River, to the land of the children of his people, to call him, saying, Behold, there is a people come out from Egypt: behold, they cover the {Hebrew: eye.}face of the earth, and they abide over against me.

4Mo 22,6 wird geladen ... Come now therefore, I pray thee, curse me this people; for they are too mighty for me: peradventure I shall prevail, that we may smite them, and that I may drive them out of the land; for I know that he whom thou blessest is blessed, and he whom thou cursest is cursed.

4Mo 22,7 wird geladen ... And the elders of Moab and the elders of Midian departed with the rewards of divination in their hand; and they came unto Balaam, and spake unto him the words of Balak.

4Mo 22,8 wird geladen ... And he said unto them, Lodge here this night, and I will bring you word again, as Jehovah shall speak unto me: and the princes of Moab abode with Balaam.

4Mo 22,9 wird geladen ... And God came unto Balaam, and said, What men are these with thee?

4Mo 22,10 wird geladen ... And Balaam said unto God, Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, hath sent unto me, saying,

4Mo 22,11 wird geladen ... Behold, the people that is come out of Egypt, it covereth the {Hebrew: eye.}face of the earth: now, come curse me them; peradventure I shall be able to fight against them, and shall drive them out.

4Mo 22,12 wird geladen ... And God said unto Balaam, Thou shalt not go with them; thou shalt not curse the people; for they are blessed.

4Mo 22,13 wird geladen ... And Balaam rose up in the morning, and said unto the princes of Balak, Get you into your land; for Jehovah refuseth to give me leave to go with you.

4Mo 22,14 wird geladen ... And the princes of Moab rose up, and they went unto Balak, and said, Balaam refuseth to come with us.

4Mo 22,15 wird geladen ... And Balak sent yet again princes, more, and more honorable than they.

4Mo 22,16 wird geladen ... And they came to Balaam, and said to him, Thus saith Balak the son of Zippor, Let nothing, I pray thee, hinder thee from coming unto me:

4Mo 22,17 wird geladen ... for I will promote thee unto very great honor, and whatsoever thou sayest unto me I will do: come therefore, I pray thee, curse me this people.

4Mo 22,18 wird geladen ... And Balaam answered and said unto the servants of Balak, If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the word of Jehovah my God, to do less or more.

4Mo 22,19 wird geladen ... Now therefore, I pray you, tarry ye also here this night, that I may know what Jehovah will speak unto me more.

4Mo 22,20 wird geladen ... And God came unto Balaam at night, and said unto him, If the men are come to call thee, rise up, go with them; but only the word which I speak unto thee, that shalt thou do.

4Mo 22,21 wird geladen ... And Balaam rose up in the morning, and saddled his ass, and went with the princes of Moab.

4Mo 22,22 wird geladen ... And God's anger was kindled because he went; and the angel of Jehovah placed himself in the way for an adversary against him. Now he was riding upon his ass, and his two servants were with him.

4Mo 22,23 wird geladen ... And the ass saw the angel of Jehovah standing in the way, with his sword drawn in his hand; and the ass turned aside out of the way, and went into the field: and Balaam smote the ass, to turn her into the way.

4Mo 22,24 wird geladen ... Then the angel of Jehovah stood in a narrow path between the vineyards, a wall being on this side, and a wall on that side.

4Mo 22,25 wird geladen ... And the ass saw the angel of Jehovah, and she thrust herself unto the wall, and crushed Balaam's foot against the wall: and he smote her again.

4Mo 31,8 wird geladen ... And they slew the kings of Midian with the rest of their slain: Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, the five kings of Midian: Balaam also the son of Beor they slew with the sword.
