Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth;
For thy love is better than wine.
Thine oils have a goodly fragrance;
Thy name is as oil poured forth;
Therefore do the {Or, maidens}virgins love thee.
Draw me; we will run after thee:
The king hath brought me into his chambers;
We will be glad and rejoice in thee;
We will make mention of thy love more than of wine:

I am black, but comely,
Oh ye daughters of Jerusalem,
As the tents of Kedar,
As the curtains of Solomon.
Look not upon me, because I am swarthy,

My mother's sons were incensed against me;
They made me keeper of the vineyards;
But mine own vineyard have I not kept.
Tell me, O thou whom my soul loveth,
Where thou feedest thy flock,
Where thou makest it to rest at noon:
For why should I be as one that is veiled
Beside the flocks of thy companions?
If thou know not, O thou fairest among women,
Go thy way forth by the footsteps of the flock,
And feed thy kids beside the shepherds' tents.

Thy cheeks are comely with plaits of hair,
Thy neck with strings of jewels.
We will make thee plaits of gold

But now they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed of them, to be called their God; for he hath prepared for them a city.
By faith Abraham, being tried, {Greek: hath offered up.}offered up Isaac: yea, he that had gladly received the promises was offering up his only begotten son;
even he {Or, of}to whom it was said, {Genesis 21:12}In Isaac shall thy seed be called:
accounting that God is able to raise up, even from the dead; from whence he did also in a figure receive him back.
By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau, even concerning things to come.
By faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph; and worshipped, leaning upon the top of his staff.
By faith Joseph, when his end was nigh, made mention of the departure of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones.

(of whom the world was not worthy), wandering in deserts and mountains and caves, and the holes of the earth.
And these all, having had witness borne to them through their faith, received not the promise,
God having {Or, forseen}provided some better thing concerning us, that apart from us they should not be made perfect.
What is thy beloved more than another beloved,O thou fairest among women?What is thy beloved more than another beloved,That thou dost so adjure us?
Remember them that had the rule over you, men that spake unto you the word of God; and considering the issue of their {Greek: manner of life.}life, imitate their faith.
Whither is thy beloved gone,O thou fairest among women?Whither hath thy beloved turned him,That we may seek him with thee?
Was not Abraham our father justified by works, in that he offered up Isaac his son upon the altar?
Thou art fair, O my love, as Tirzah,Comely as Jerusalem,Terrible as {Hebrew: bannered hosts.}an army with banners.
Turn away thine eyes from me,For they {Or, make me afraid}have overcome me.Thy hair is as a flock of goats,That lie along the side of Gilead.
Thy teeth are like a flock of ewes,Which are come up from the washing;Whereof every one hath twins,And none is bereaved among them.
Thy temples are like a piece of a pomegranateBehind thy veil.

Who is she that looketh forth as the morning,Fair as the moon, {Or, pure}Clear as the sun,Terrible as an army with banners?
And in like manner was not also Rahab the harlot justified by works, in that she received the messengers, and sent them out another way?
How beautiful are thy {Or, steps}feet in sandals, O prince's daughter!Thy rounded thighs are like jewels,The work of the hands of a skilful workman.
Thy body is like a round goblet,Wherein no mingled wine is wanting:Thy waist is like a heap of wheatSet about with lilies.
Thy two breasts are like two fawnsThat are twins of a roe.
Thy neck is like the tower of ivory;Thine eyes as the pools in Heshbon,By the gate of Bath-rabbim;Thy nose is like the tower of LebanonWhich looketh toward Damascus.
Thy head upon thee is like Carmel,And the hair of thy head like purple;The king is held captive in the tresses thereof.
How fair and how pleasant art thou,O love, for delights!
This thy stature is like to a palm-tree,And thy breasts to its clusters.
I said, I will climb up into the palm-tree,I will take hold of the branches thereof:Let thy breasts be as clusters of the vine,And the smell of thy {Hebrew: nose.}breath like apples,
And thy {Hebrew: palate.}mouth like the best wine,That goeth down {Hebrew: aright.}smoothly for my beloved, {Or, Causing the lips of those that are asleep to move (or, speak)}Gliding through the lips of those that are asleep.
I am my beloved's;And his desire is toward me.
Come, my beloved, let us go forth into the field;Let us lodge in the villages.
Let us get up early to the vineyards;Let us see whether the vine hath budded,And {Or, the tender grape appeareth}its blossom is open,And the pomegranates are in flower:There will I give thee my love.
The mandrakes give forth fragrance;And {Or, over}at our doors are all manner of precious fruits, new and old,Which I have laid up for thee, O my beloved.
Take, brethren, for an example of suffering and of patience, the prophets who spake in the name of the Lord.

as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose children ye now are, if ye do well, and are not {Or, afraid with}put in fear by any terror.
So will the king desire thy beauty;For he is thy lord; and reverence thou him.
The king's daughter {Or, in the inner part of the palace}within the palace is all glorious:Her clothing is inwrought with gold.
that he might present the church to himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
Let us rejoice and be exceeding glad, and let us give the glory unto him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
And it was given unto her that she should array herself in fine linen, bright and pure: for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.
