Remember the former things of old: {Or, that}for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me;
declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done; saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure;
God is not a man, that he should lie,Neither the son of man, that he should repent:Hath he said, and will he not do it?Or hath he spoken, and will he not make it good?

And I fell down before his feet to {See marginal note on chapter 3:9}worship him. And he saith unto me, See thou do it not: I am a fellow-servant with thee and with thy brethren that hold the testimony of Jesus: {See marginal note on chapter 3:9}worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
And we have the word of prophecy made more sure; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a lamp shining in a {Greek: squalid.}dark place, until the day dawn, and the day-star arise in your hearts:
and delivered righteous Lot, sore distressed by the lascivious life of the wicked
(for that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, {Greek: tormented.}vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their lawless deeds):
And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come forth, my people, out of her, that ye have no fellowship with her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues:
Wherefore {Isaiah 52:11.}Come ye out from among them, and be ye separate,saith the Lord,And touch no unclean thing;And I will receive you,
Howbeit the firm foundation of God standeth, having this seal, {Numbers 16:5?}The Lord knoweth them that are his: and, {Isaiah 26:13?}Let every one that nameth the name of the Lord depart from unrighteousness.
But flee youthful lusts, and follow after righteousness, faith, love, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
The {Or, counsel Or, secret}friendship of Jehovah is with them that fear him; {Or, And his covenat, to make them know it}And he will show them his covenant.
Behold, my servant, whom I uphold; my chosen, in whom my soul delighteth: I have put my Spirit upon him; he will bring forth justice to the {Or, nations (and elsewhere)}Gentiles.

Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him {Or, a long garment with sleeves}a coat of many colors.
At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment went forth, and I am come to tell thee; for thou art {Or, very precious Hebrew: precious things.}greatly beloved: therefore consider the matter, and understand the vision.
There was at the table reclining in Jesus' bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved.

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

So now it was not you that sent me hither, but God: and he hath made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and ruler over all the land of Egypt.
and he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, {Abrech, probably an Egyptian word, similar in sound to the Hebrew word meaning to kneel.}Bow the knee: and he set him over all the land of Egypt.
And Pharaoh called Joseph's name Zaphenath-paneah; and he gave him to wife Asenath, the daughter of Poti-phera priest of On. And Joseph went out over the land of Egypt.
Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.
And Jehovah saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
And it repented Jehovah that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
And Jehovah said, I will {Hebrew: blot out.}destroy man whom I have created from the face of the ground; both man, and beast, and creeping things, and birds of the heavens; for it repenteth me that I have made them.
But Noah found favor in the eyes of Jehovah.
These are the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, and {Or, blameless}perfect in his generations: Noah walked with God.
And Noah begat three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
And the earth was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.
And God saw the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way upon the earth.
And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.
And when the barbarians saw the venomous creature hanging from his hand, they said one to another, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped from the sea, yet Justice hath not suffered to live.
Be subject to every {Greek: creation.}ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether to the king, as supreme;
or unto governors, as sent {Greek: through.}by him for vengeance on evil-doers and for praise to them that do well.
and he shall reign over the house of Jacob {Greek: unto the ages.}for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
The Lord will deliver me from every evil work, and will save me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be the glory {Greek: unto the ages of the ages.}for ever and ever. Amen.
And, as Isaiah hath said before, {Isaiah 1:9}Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed,We had become as Sodom, and had been made like unto Gomorrah.
{Or, In the generations that come}In days to come shall Jacob take root; Israel shall blossom and bud; and they shall fill the face of the world with fruit.
After these things he departed from Athens, and came to Corinth.
unto a dispensation of the fulness of the {Greek: seasons.}times, to sum up all things in Christ, the things {Greek: upon.}in the heavens, and the things upon the earth; in him, I say,
Yet I have set my kingUpon my holy hill of Zion.
I will tell of the decree:Jehovah said unto me, Thou art my son;This day have I begotten thee.
Ask of me, and I will give thee the nations for thine inheritance,And the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
His name shall endure for ever;His name shall {Or, have issue}be continued {Hebrew: before the sun.}as long as the sun:And men shall {Or, bless themselves}be blessed in him;All nations shall call him happy.
Blessed be Jehovah God, the God of Israel,Who only doeth wondrous things:
And blessed be his glorious name for ever;And let the whole earth be filled with his glory.Amen, and Amen.
Let every soul be in subjection to the higher powers: for there is no power but of God; and the powers that be are ordained of God.
Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why didst thou make me thus?
and wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the birds of the heavens hath he given into thy hand, and hath made thee to rule over them all: thou art the head of gold.
O thou king, the Most High God gave Nebuchadnezzar thy father the kingdom, and greatness, and glory, and majesty:
and because of the greatness that he gave him, all the peoples, nations, and languages trembled and feared before him: whom he would he slew, and whom he would he kept alive; and whom he would he raised up, and whom he would he put down.

And I will set a sign among them, and I will send such as escape of them unto the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, that draw the bow, to Tubal and Javan, to the isles afar off, that have not heard my fame, neither have seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the nations.
Say among the nations, Jehovah reigneth:The world also is established that it cannot be moved:He will judge the peoples with equity
Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice;Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof;
Let the field exult, and all that is therein;Then shall all the trees of the wood sing for joy
Before Jehovah; for he cometh,For he cometh to judge the earth:He will judge the world with righteousness,And the peoples {Or, in his faithfulness}with his truth.
The stone which the builders rejectedIs become the head of the corner.
He is the {Psalm 118:22.}stone which was set at nought of you the builders, which was made the head of the corner.
And in none other is there salvation: for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, wherein we must be saved.
even as it is written, {Isaiah 28:16}Behold, I lay in Zion a stone of stumbling and a rock of offence:And he that believeth on {Or, it}him shall not be put to shame.
But he looked upon them, and said, What then is this that is written, {Psalms 118:22.}The stone which the builders rejected,The same was made the head of the corner?
Every one that falleth on that stone shall be broken to pieces; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will scatter him as dust.
But seek ye first his kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, that shall arise out of the earth.
Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be a fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all the kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall {Or, thresh it}tread it down, and break it in pieces.
Now it came to pass in those days, there went out a decree from Cæsar Augustus, that all {Greek: the inhabited earth.}the world should be enrolled.
And in the days of those kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed, nor shall the sovereignty thereof be left to another people; but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.
neither shall they say, Lo, here! or, There! for lo, the kingdom of God is {Or, in the mist of you}within you.
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except one be born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
All the {Or, torrents}rivers run into the sea, yet the sea is not full; unto the place whither the rivers go, thither they go again.
There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.
And for this cause God sendeth them a working of error, that they should believe a lie:
The sentence is by the decree of the watchers, and the {Or, matter}demand by the word of the holy ones; to the intent that the living may know that the Most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the lowest of men.
The king's heart is in the hand of Jehovah as the watercourses:He turneth it whithersoever he will.
And the ten horns which thou sawest, and the beast, these shall hate the harlot, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and shall burn her utterly with fire.
For God did put in their hearts to do his mind, and to come to one mind, and to give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God should be accomplished.
for of a truth in this city against thy holy {Or, Child See marginal note on chapter 3:13.}Servant Jesus, whom thou didst anoint, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the {Greek: nations.}Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, were gathered together,
to do whatsoever thy hand and thy council foreordained to come to pass.
Thou shalt be for fuel to the fire; thy blood shall be in the midst of the land; thou shalt be no more remembered: for I, Jehovah, have spoken it.
whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, {Haggai 2:6.}Yet once more will I make to tremble not the earth only, but also the heaven.
And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that have been made, that those things which are not shaken may remain.
Wherefore, receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us have {Or, thankfulness Compare 1 Corinthians 10:30.}grace, whereby we may offer service well-pleasing to God with {Or, godly fear Compare chapter 5:7.}reverence and awe:
They say unto him, Cæsar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Cæsar the things that are Cæsar's; and unto God the things that are God's.
And the woman whom thou sawest is the great city, which {Greek: hath a kingdom.}reigneth over the kings of the earth.
For all things are for your sakes, that the grace, being multiplied through {Greek: the more.}the many, may cause the thanksgiving to abound unto the glory of God.
Wherefore we faint not; but though our outward man is decaying, yet our inward man is renewed day by day.
Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
