1 wird geladen ... And it came to pass after the death of Joshua, that the children of Israel asked of Jehovah, saying, Who shall go up for us first against the Canaanites, to fight against them?

2 wird geladen ... And Jehovah said, Judah shall go up: behold, I have delivered the land into his hand.

3 wird geladen ... And Judah said unto Simeon his brother, Come up with me into my lot, that we may fight against the Canaanites; and I likewise will go with thee into thy lot. So Simeon went with him.

4 wird geladen ... And Judah went up; and Jehovah delivered the Canaanites and the Perizzites into their hand: and they smote of them in Bezek ten thousand men.

5 wird geladen ... And they found Adoni-bezek in Bezek; and they fought against him, and they smote the Canaanites and the Perizzites.

6 wird geladen ... But Adoni-bezek fled; and they pursued after him, and caught him, and cut off his thumbs and his great toes.

7 wird geladen ... And Adoni-bezek said, Threescore and ten kings, having their thumbs and their great toes cut off, gathered their food under my table: as I have done, so God hath requited me. And they brought him to Jerusalem, and he died there.

8 wird geladen ... And the children of Judah fought against Jerusalem, and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and set the city on fire.

9 wird geladen ... And afterward the children of Judah went down to fight against the Canaanites that dwelt in the hill-country, and in the South, and in the lowland.

10 wird geladen ... And Judah went against the Canaanites that dwelt in Hebron (now the name of Hebron beforetime was Kiriath-arba); and they smote Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai.

11 wird geladen ... And from thence he went against the inhabitants of Debir. (Now the name of Debir beforetime was Kiriath-sepher.)

12 wird geladen ... And Caleb said, He that smiteth Kiriath-sepher, and taketh it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife.

13 wird geladen ... And Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife.

14 wird geladen ... And it came to pass, when she came unto him, that she moved him to ask of her father a field: and she alighted from off her ass; and Caleb said unto her, What wouldest thou?

15 wird geladen ... And she said unto him, Give me a {Or, present}blessing; for that thou hast {Or, given me the land of the South}set me in the land of the South, give me also springs of water. And Caleb gave her the upper springs and the nether springs.

16 wird geladen ... And the children of the Kenite, Moses' {Or, father-in-law}brother-in-law, went up out of the city of palm-trees with the children of Judah into the wilderness of Judah, which is in the south of Arad; and they went and dwelt with the people.

17 wird geladen ... And Judah went with Simeon his brother, and they smote the Canaanites that inhabited Zephath, and {Hebrew: devoted.}utterly destroyed it. And the name of the city was called Hormah.

18 wird geladen ... Also Judah took Gaza with the border thereof, and Ashkelon with the border thereof, and Ekron with the border thereof.

19 wird geladen ... And Jehovah was with Judah; and drove out the inhabitants of the hill-country; for he could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron.

20 wird geladen ... And they gave Hebron unto Caleb, as Moses had spoken: and he drove out thence the three sons of Anak.

21 wird geladen ... And the children of Benjamin did not drive out the Jebusites that inhabited Jerusalem; but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Benjamin in Jerusalem unto this day.

22 wird geladen ... And the house of Joseph, they also went up against Beth-el; and Jehovah was with them.

23 wird geladen ... And the house of Joseph sent to spy out Beth-el. (Now the name of the city beforetime was Luz.)

24 wird geladen ... And the watchers saw a man come forth out of the city, and they said unto him, Show us, we pray thee, the entrance into the city, and we will deal kindly with thee.

25 wird geladen ... And he showed them the entrance into the city; and they smote the city with the edge of the sword; but they let the man go and all his family.

26 wird geladen ... And the man went into the land of the Hittites, and built a city, and called the name thereof Luz, which is the name thereof unto this day.

27 wird geladen ... And Manasseh did not drive out the inhabitants of Beth-shean and its {Hebrew: daughters.}towns, nor of Taanach and its towns, nor the inhabitants of Dor and its towns, nor the inhabitants of Ibleam and its towns, nor the inhabitants of Megiddo and its towns; but the Canaanites would dwell in that land.

28 wird geladen ... And it came to pass, when Israel was waxed strong, that they put the Canaanites to taskwork, and did not utterly drive them out.

29 wird geladen ... And Ephraim drove not out the Canaanites that dwelt in Gezer; but the Canaanites dwelt in Gezer among them.

30 wird geladen ... Zebulun drove not out the inhabitants of Kitron, nor the inhabitants of Nahalol; but the Canaanites dwelt among them, and became subject to taskwork.

31 wird geladen ... Asher drove not out the inhabitants of Acco, nor the inhabitants of Sidon, nor of Ahlab, nor of Achzib, nor of Helbah, nor of Aphik, nor of Rehob;

32 wird geladen ... but the Asherites dwelt among the Canaanites, the inhabitants of the land; for they did not drive them out.

33 wird geladen ... Naphtali drove not out the inhabitants of Beth-shemesh, nor the inhabitants of Beth-anath; but he dwelt among the Canaanites, the inhabitants of the land: nevertheless the inhabitants of Beth-shemesh and of Beth-anath became subject to taskwork.

34 wird geladen ... And the Amorites forced the children of Dan into the hill-country; for they would not suffer them to come down to the valley;

35 wird geladen ... but the Amorites would dwell in mount Heres, in Aijalon, and in Shaalbim: yet the hand of the house of Joseph prevailed, so that they became subject to taskwork.

36 wird geladen ... And the border of the Amorites was from the ascent of Akrabbim, from {Or, Sela}the rock, and upward.

2Mo 14,11 wird geladen ... And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to bring us forth out of Egypt?

2Mo 14,12 wird geladen ... Is not this the word that we spake unto thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it were better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.

2Mo 14,13 wird geladen ... And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of Jehovah, which he will work for you to-day: {Or, for whereas ye have seen the Egyptians to-day}for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to-day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

2Mo 14,15 wird geladen ... And Jehovah said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward.

2Mo 14,16 wird geladen ... And lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thy hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go into the midst of the sea on dry ground.

2Mo 14,17 wird geladen ... And I, behold, I will {Hebrew: make strong.}harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall go in after them: and I will get me honor upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.

2Mo 14,18 wird geladen ... And the Egyptians shall know that I am Jehovah, when I have gotten me honor upon Pharaoh, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.

2Mo 14,19 wird geladen ... And the angel of God, who went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud removed from before them, and stood behind them:

2Mo 14,20 wird geladen ... and it came between the camp of Egypt and the camp of Israel; and there was the cloud and the darkness, yet gave it light by night: and the one came not near the other all the night.

2Mo 14,21 wird geladen ... And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and Jehovah caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all the night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.

2Mo 14,22 wird geladen ... And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.

2Mo 14,23 wird geladen ... And the Egyptians pursued, and went in after them into the midst of the sea, all Pharaoh's horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.

2Mo 14,24 wird geladen ... And it came to pass in the morning watch, that Jehovah looked forth upon the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of cloud, and discomfited the host of the Egyptians.

2Mo 14,25 wird geladen ... And he {According to Septuagint and Syriac, bound.}took off their chariot wheels, {Or, and made them to drive}and they drove them heavily; so that the Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel; for Jehovah fighteth for them against the Egyptians.

2Mo 14,26 wird geladen ... And Jehovah said unto Moses, Stretch out thy hand over the sea, that the waters may come again upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots, and upon their horsemen.

2Mo 14,27 wird geladen ... And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to its {Or, wonted flow}strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it; and Jehovah {Hebrew: shook off.}overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.

2Mo 14,28 wird geladen ... And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, even all the host of Pharaoh that went in after them into the sea; there remained not so much as one of them.

2Mo 14,29 wird geladen ... But the children of Israel walked upon dry land in the midst of the sea; and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.

2Mo 14,30 wird geladen ... Thus Jehovah saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the sea-shore.

2Mo 14,31 wird geladen ... And Israel saw the great {Hebrew: hand.}work which Jehovah did upon the Egyptians, and the people feared Jehovah: and they believed in Jehovah, and in his servant Moses.

Jos 11,4 wird geladen ... And they went out, they and all their hosts with them, much people, even as the sand that is upon the sea-shore in multitude, with horses and chariots very many.

Jos 11,5 wird geladen ... And all these kings met together; and they came and encamped together at the waters of Merom, to fight with Israel.

Jos 11,6 wird geladen ... And Jehovah said unto Joshua, Be not afraid because of them; for to-morrow at this time will I deliver them up all slain before Israel: thou shalt hock their horses, and burn their chariots with fire.

Jos 11,7 wird geladen ... So Joshua came, and all the people of war with him, against them by the waters of Merom suddenly, and fell upon them.
