Vers

Blessed be Jehovah my rock,
Who teacheth my hands to war,
And my fingers to fight:

2 wird geladen ... My lovingkindness, and my fortress,
My high tower, and my deliverer;
My shield, and he in whom I take refuge;
Who subdueth my people under me.

3 wird geladen ... Jehovah, what is man, that thou takest knowledge of him?
Or the son of man, that thou makest account of him?

4 wird geladen ... Man is like to {Hebrew: a breath.}vanity:
His days are as a shadow that passeth away.

5 wird geladen ... Bow thy heavens, O Jehovah, and come down:
Touch the mountains, and they shall smoke.

6 wird geladen ... Cast forth lightning, and scatter them;
Send out thine arrows, and discomfit them.

7 wird geladen ... Stretch forth thy hand from above;
Rescue me, and deliver me out of great waters,
Out of the hand of aliens;

8 wird geladen ... Whose mouth speaketh deceit,
And whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood.

9 wird geladen ... I will sing a new song unto thee, O God:
Upon a psaltery of ten strings will I sing praises unto thee.

10 wird geladen ... Thou art he that giveth salvation unto kings;
Who rescueth David his servant from the hurtful sword.

11 wird geladen ... Rescue me, and deliver me out of the hand of aliens,
Whose mouth speaketh deceit,
And whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood.

12 wird geladen ... When our sons shall be as plants grown up in their youth,
And our daughters as corner-stones hewn after the fashion of a palace;

13 wird geladen ... When our garners are full, affording all manner of store,
And our sheep bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our fields;

14 wird geladen ... When our oxen are well laden;
When there is no breaking in, and no {Or, sallying}going forth,
And no outcry in our streets:

15 wird geladen ... Happy is the people that is in such a case;
Yea, happy is the people whose God is Jehovah.

And when the children of Ammon saw that they were become odious to David, the children of Ammon sent and hired the Syrians of Beth-rehob, and the Syrians of Zobah, twenty thousand footmen, and the king of Maacah with a thousand men, and the men of Tob twelve thousand men.

2Sam 10,8 wird geladen ... And the children of Ammon came out, and put the battle in array at the entrance of the gate: and the Syrians of Zobah and of Rehob, and the men of Tob and Maacah, were by themselves in the field.

2Sam 10,9 wird geladen ... Now when Joab saw that {Hebrew: the face of the battle was against.}the battle was set against him before and behind, he chose of all the choice men of Israel, and put them in array against the Syrians:

2Sam 10,10 wird geladen ... and the rest of the people he committed into the hand of {Hebrew: Abshai.}Abishai his brother; and he put them in array against the children of Ammon.

2Sam 10,11 wird geladen ... And he said, If the Syrians be too strong for me, then thou shalt help me; but if the children of Ammon be too strong for thee, then I will come and help thee.

2Sam 10,12 wird geladen ... Be of good courage, and let us play the man for our people, and for the cities of our God: and Jehovah do that which seemeth him good.

2Sam 10,13 wird geladen ... So Joab and the people that were with him drew nigh unto the battle against the Syrians: and they fled before him.

2Sam 10,14 wird geladen ... And when the children of Ammon saw that the Syrians were fled, they likewise fled before Abishai, and entered into the city. Then Joab returned from the children of Ammon, and came to Jerusalem.

2Sam 10,15 wird geladen ... And when the Syrians saw that they were put to the worse before Israel, they gathered themselves together.

2Sam 10,16 wird geladen ... And {In chapter 8:3, Hadadeser.}Hadarezer sent, and brought out the Syrians that were beyond the River: and they came to Helam, with Shobach the captain of the host of Hadarezer at their head.

2Sam 10,17 wird geladen ... And it was told David; and he gathered all Israel together, and passed over the Jordan, and came to Helam. And the Syrians set themselves in array against David, and fought with him.

2Sam 10,18 wird geladen ... And the Syrians fled before Israel; and David slew of the Syrians the men of seven hundred chariots, and forty thousand horsemen, and smote Shobach the captain of their host, so that he died there.

2Sam 10,19 wird geladen ... And when all the kings that were servants to Hadarezer saw that they were put to the worse before Israel, they made peace with Israel, and served them. So the Syrians feared to help the children of Ammon any more.

2Sam 16,5 wird geladen ... And when king David came to Bahurim, behold, there came out thence a man of the family of the house of Saul, whose name was Shimei, the son of Gera; he came out, and cursed still as he came.

2Sam 16,6 wird geladen ... And he cast stones at David, and at all the servants of king David: and all the people and all the mighty men were on his right hand and on his left.

2Sam 16,7 wird geladen ... And thus said Shimei when he cursed, Begone, begone, thou man of blood, and base fellow:

2Sam 16,8 wird geladen ... Jehovah hath returned upon thee all the blood of the house of Saul, in whose stead thou hast reigned; and Jehovah hath delivered the kingdom into the hand of Absalom thy son; and, behold, thou art taken in thine own mischief, because thou art a man of blood.

2Sam 16,9 wird geladen ... Then said Abishai the son of Zeruiah unto the king, Why should this dead dog curse my lord the king? let me go over, I pray thee, and take off his head.

2Sam 16,10 wird geladen ... And the king said, What have I to do with you, ye sons of Zeruiah? {Or, When he curseth, and when &c. Another reading is, So let him curse, because.}Because he curseth, and because Jehovah hath said unto him, Curse David; who then shall say, Wherefore hast thou done so?

2Sam 16,11 wird geladen ... And David said to Abishai, and to all his servants, Behold, my son, who came forth from my bowels, seeketh my life: how much more may this Benjamite now do it? let him alone, and let him curse; for Jehovah hath bidden him.

2Sam 16,12 wird geladen ... It may be that Jehovah will look on the wrong done unto me, and that Jehovah will requite me good for his cursing of me this day.

2Sam 16,13 wird geladen ... So David and his men went by the way; and Shimei went along on the hill-side over against him, and cursed as he went, and threw stones {Hebrew: over against.}at him, and cast dust.

2Sam 16,14 wird geladen ... And the king, and all the people that were with him, came {Or, to Ayephim}weary; and he refreshed himself there.

2Sam 17,1 wird geladen ... Moreover Ahithophel said unto Absalom, Let me now choose out twelve thousand men, and I will arise and pursue after David this night:

2Sam 17,2 wird geladen ... and I will come upon him while he is weary and weak-handed, and will make him afraid; and all the people that are with him shall flee; and I will smite the king only;

2Sam 17,3 wird geladen ... and I will bring back all the people unto thee: the man whom thou seekest is as if all returned: so all the people shall be in peace.

2Sam 17,4 wird geladen ... And the saying pleased Absalom well, and all the elders of Israel.

2Sam 17,5 wird geladen ... Then said Absalom, Call now Hushai the Archite also, and let us hear likewise what he saith.

2Sam 17,6 wird geladen ... And when Hushai was come to Absalom, Absalom spake unto him, saying, Ahithophel hath spoken after this manner: shall we do after his saying? if not, speak thou.

2Sam 17,7 wird geladen ... And Hushai said unto Absalom, The counsel that Ahithophel hath given this time is not good.

2Sam 17,8 wird geladen ... Hushai said moreover, Thou knowest thy father and his men, that they are mighty men, and they are {Hebrew: bitter of soul.}chafed in their minds, as a bear robbed of her whelps in the field; and thy father is a man of war, and will not lodge with the people.

2Sam 17,9 wird geladen ... Behold, he is hid now in some pit, or in some other place: and it will come to pass, {Or, when he falleth upon them}when some of them are fallen at the first, that whosoever heareth it will say, There is a slaughter among the people that follow Absalom.

2Sam 17,10 wird geladen ... And even he that is valiant, whose heart is as the heart of a lion, will utterly melt; for all Israel knoweth that thy father is a mighty man, and they that are with him are valiant men.

2Sam 17,11 wird geladen ... But I counsel that all Israel be gathered together unto thee, from Dan even to Beer-sheba, as the sand that is by the sea for multitude; and {Or, that thy presence (Hebrew: face) go to the battle}that thou go to battle in thine own person.

2Sam 17,12 wird geladen ... So shall we come upon him in some place where he shall be found, and we will light upon him as the dew falleth on the ground; and of him and of all the men that are with him we will not leave so much as one.

2Sam 17,13 wird geladen ... Moreover, if he {Or, withdraw himself}be gotten into a city, then shall all Israel bring ropes to that city, and we will draw it into the river, until there be not one small stone found there.

2Sam 17,14 wird geladen ... And Absalom and all the men of Israel said, The counsel of Hushai the Archite is better than the counsel of Ahithophel. For Jehovah had ordained to defeat the good counsel of Ahithophel, to the intent that Jehovah might bring evil upon Absalom.
