Envy thou not the man of violence,And choose none of his ways.
For the perverse is an abomination to Jehovah;But his {Or, counsel}friendship is with the upright.
The curse of Jehovah is in the house of the wicked;But he blesseth the habitation of the righteous.
{Or, Though}Surely he scoffeth at the scoffers; {Or, Yet}But he giveth grace unto the lowly.
The wise shall inherit glory;But {Or, foots carry away shame}shame shall be the promotion of fools.
For I was envious at the {Or, fools}arrogant,When I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
For there are no pangs in their death;But their strength is firm.
They are not {Hebrew: in the trouble of men.}in trouble as other men;Neither are they plagued like other men.
My son, if sinners entice thee,Consent thou not.
If they say, Come with us,Let us lay wait for blood;Let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause;
Let us swallow them up alive as Sheol, {Or, Even the perfect}And whole, as those that go down into the pit;
We shall find all precious substance;We shall fill our houses with spoil;
{Or, Cast in thy lot}Thou shalt cast thy lot among us;We will all have one purse:

And Jehovah said, Shall I hide from Abraham that which I do;
seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?
For I have known him, to the end that he may command his children and his household after him, that they may keep the way of Jehovah, to do righteousness and justice; to the end that Jehovah may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.
Surely the Lord Jehovah will do nothing, except he reveal his secret unto his servants the prophets.
If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith Jehovah of hosts, then will I send the curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings; yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart.
