Versliste
For, as for thy waste and thy desolate places, and thy land that hath been destroyed, surely now shalt thou be too strait for the inhabitants, and they that swallowed thee up shall be far away.
The children of thy bereavement shall yet say in thine ears, The place is too strait for me; give place to me that I may dwell.
Then shalt thou say in thy heart, Who hath {Or, borne}begotten me these, seeing I have been bereaved of my children, and am {Or, barren}solitary, an exile, and wandering to and fro? and who hath brought up these? Behold, I was left alone; these, where were they?
Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: For this, moreover, will I be inquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them: I will increase them with men like a flock.
As the {Hebrew: flock of holy things.}flock for sacrifice, as the flock of Jerusalem in her appointed feasts, so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men; and they shall know that I am Jehovah.
In that day Jehovah made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:
the Kenite, and the Kenizzite, and the Kadmonite,
and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Rephaim,
and the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Girgashite, and the Jebusite.
For the Chief Musician; set to Al-tashheth. A Psalm of David. Michtam; when he fled from Saul, in the cave.Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me;For my soul taketh refuge in thee:Yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I take refuge,Until these {Or, wickedness}calamities be overpast.
I will cry unto God Most High,Unto God that performeth all things for me.
He will send from heaven, and save me,When he that would swallow me up reproacheth; [SelahGod will send forth his lovingkindness and his truth.
My soul is among lions;I {Or, must lie}lie among them that are set on fire,Even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows,And their tongue a sharp sword.
Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens;Let thy glory be above all the earth.
They have prepared a net for my steps; My soul is bowed down:They have digged a pit before me;They are fallen into the midst thereof themselves. [Selah
My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed:I will sing, yea, I will sing praises.
Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp:I myself {Or, will awake the dawn}will awake right early.
I will give thanks unto thee, O Lord, among the peoples:I will sing praises unto thee among the nations.
For thy lovingkindness is great unto the heavens,And thy truth unto the skies.
Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens;Let thy glory be above all the earth.

Thou hast made the land to tremble; thou hast rent it:Heal the breaches thereof; for it shaketh.
Thou hast showed thy people hard things:Thou hast made us to drink the wine of staggering.
Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee,That it may be displayed because of the truth. [Selah

Moab is my washpot; {Or, Unto}Upon Edom will I cast my shoe:Philistia, shout thou because of me.
