A Song, a Psalm of David.
My heart is fixed, O God;
I will sing, yea, I will sing praises, even with my glory.
Awake, psaltery and harp:
I myself will {Or, awake the dawn}awake right early.
I will give thanks unto thee, O Jehovah, among the peoples;
And I will sing praises unto thee among the nations.
For thy lovingkindness is great above the heavens;
And thy truth reacheth unto the skies.
Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens,
And thy glory above all the earth.
That thy beloved may be delivered,
Save with thy right hand, and answer {Another reading is, me.}us.
God hath spoken in his holiness: I will exult;
I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.
Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine;
Ephraim also is the defence of my head;
Judah is my {Or, lawgiver}sceptre.
Moab is my washpot;
{Or, Unto}Upon Edom will I cast my shoe;
Over Philistia will I shout.
Who will bring me into the fortified city?
Who {Or, will lead me &c.}hath led me unto Edom?
{Or, Wilt not thou, O God, who hast cast us off, And goest…hosts?}Hast not thou cast us off, O God?
And thou goest not forth, O God, with our hosts.
Give us help against the adversary;
For vain is the {Hebrew: salvation.}help of man.
Through God we shall do valiantly:
For he it is that will tread down our adversaries.
Querverweise zu Psalm 108,1 Ps 108,1
My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed:I will sing, yea, I will sing praises.
Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp:I myself {Or, will awake the dawn}will awake right early.
I will give thanks unto thee, O Lord, among the peoples:I will sing praises unto thee among the nations.
For thy lovingkindness is great unto the heavens,And thy truth unto the skies.
Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens;Let thy glory be above all the earth.
To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent.O Jehovah my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.
Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth;My flesh also shall dwell {Or, confidently}in safety.
A Psalm of David; {See 1 Samuel 21:10-15}when he {Or, feigned madness}changed his behavior before Abimelech, who drove him away, and he departed.I will bless Jehovah at all times:His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My mouth shall be filled with thy praise,And with thy honor all the day.
I will sing unto Jehovah as long as I live:I will sing praise to my God while I have any being.
My mouth shall tell of thy righteousness,And of thy salvation all the day;For I know not the numbers thereof.
A Psalm of David.I will give thee thanks with my whole heart:Before the gods will I sing praises unto thee.
My lips shall shout for joy when I sing praises unto thee;And my soul, which thou hast redeemed.
A Psalm of praise; of DavidI will extol thee, my God, O King;And I will bless thy name for ever and ever.
My tongue also shall talk of thy righteousness all the day long;For they are put to shame, for they are confounded, that seek my hurt.
Every day will I bless thee;And I will praise thy name for ever and ever.
My mouth shall speak the praise of Jehovah;And let all flesh bless his holy name for ever and ever.
{Hebrew: Hallelujah.}Praise ye Jehovah.Praise Jehovah, O my soul.
While I live will I praise Jehovah:I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being.
Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto Jehovah, and spake, saying,I will sing unto Jehovah, for he {Or, is highly exalted}hath triumphed gloriously:The horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.
