Versliste
He shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth,A morning without clouds,When the tender grass springeth out of the earth,Through clear shining after rain.
A Psalm of David.I will sing of lovingkindness and justice:Unto thee, O Jehovah, will I sing praises.
I will {Or, give heed unto the perfect way}behave myself wisely in a perfect way:Oh when wilt thou come unto me?I will walk within my house {Or, in the integrity of my heart}with a perfect heart.
I will set no base thing before mine eyes:I hate {Or, the doing of unfaithfulness}the work of them that turn aside; It shall not cleave unto me.
A perverse heart shall depart from me:I will know no {Or, evil person}evil thing.
Whoso privily slandereth his neighbor, him will I destroy:Him that hath a high look and a proud heart will I not suffer.
Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me:He that walketh in a perfect way, he shall minister unto me.
He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house:He that speaketh falsehood shall not be established before mine eyes.
Morning by morning will I destroy all the wicked of the land;To cut off all the workers of iniquity from the city of Jehovah.
He raiseth up the poor out of the dust,He lifteth up the needy from the dunghill,To make them sit with princes,And inherit the throne of glory:For the pillars of the earth are Jehovah's,And he hath set the world upon them.
He will keep the feet of his {Or, godly ones Another reading is, holy one.}holy ones; But the wicked shall be put to silence in darkness; For by strength shall no man prevail.
They that strive with Jehovah shall be broken to pieces;Against them will he thunder in heaven:Jehovah will judge the ends of the earth; And he will give strength unto his king,And exalt the horn of his anointed.
And in the days of those kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed, nor shall the sovereignty thereof be left to another people; but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.
and I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms; and I will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the nations; and I will overthrow the chariots, and those that ride in them; and the horses and their riders shall come down, every one by the sword of his brother.
And inasmuch as it is {Greek: laid up for. Colossians 1:5; 2 Timothy 4:8}appointed unto men once to die, and after this cometh judgment;
But when the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the angels with him, then shall he sit on the throne of his glory:
He that overcometh, I will give to him to sit down with me in my throne, as I also overcame, and sat down with my Father in his throne.
But I will declare for ever,I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.
Awake, awake, stand up, O Jerusalem, that hast drunk at the hand of Jehovah the cup of his wrath; thou hast drunken the bowl of the cup of staggering, and drained it.
For thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel, unto me: Take this cup of the wine of wrath at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send thee, to drink it.
And the great city was divided into into three parts, and the cities of the {Or, Gentiles}nations fell: and Babylon the great was remembered in the sight of God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.
And I heard a great voice out of the {Or, sanctuary}temple, saying to the seven angels, Go ye, and pour out the seven bowls of the wrath of God into the earth.
And the first went, and poured out his bowl into the earth; and {Or, there came}it became a noisome and grievous sore upon the men that had the mark of the beast, and that {See marginal note on chapter 3:9}worshipped his image.
And the second poured out his bowl into the sea; and {Or, there came}it became blood as of a dead man; and every {Greek: soul of life.}living soul died, even the things that were in the sea.
And the third poured out his bowl into the rivers and the fountains of the waters; {Some ancient authorities read and they became.}and {Or, there came}it became blood.
And I heard the angel of the waters saying, Righteous art thou, who art and who wast, thou Holy One, because thou didst thus {Or, judge. Because they…prophets, thou hast given them blood also to drink}judge:
for they poured out the blood of saints and prophets, and blood hast thou given them to drink: they are worthy.
And I heard the altar saying, Yea, O Lord God, the Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments.
And the fourth poured out his bowl upon the sun; and it was given unto {Or, him}it to scorch men with fire.
And men were scorched with great heat: and they blasphemed the name of God who hath the power over these plagues; and they repented not to give him glory.
And the fifth poured out his bowl upon the throne of the beast; and his kingdom was darkened; and they gnawed their tongues for pain,
and they blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores; and they repented not of their works.
And the sixth poured out his bowl upon the great river, the river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way might be made ready for the kings that come from the sunrising.
And I saw coming out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet, three unclean spirits, as it were frogs:
for they are spirits of demons, working signs; which go forth {Or, upon}unto the kings of the whole {Greek: inhabited earth.}world, to gather them together unto the war of the great day of God, the Almighty.
(Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.)
And they gathered them together into the place which is called in Hebrew {Or, Ar-Magedon.}Har-Magedon.
And the seventh poured out his bowl upon the air; and there came forth a great voice out of the {Or, sanctuary}temple, from the throne, saying, It is done:
and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunders; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since {Some ancient authorities read there was a man.}there were men upon the earth, so great an earthquake, so mighty.
And the great city was divided into into three parts, and the cities of the {Or, Gentiles}nations fell: and Babylon the great was remembered in the sight of God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.
And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.
And great hail, every stone about the weight of a talent, cometh down out of heaven upon men: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof is exceeding great.
I will take the cup of salvation,And call upon the name of Jehovah.
I love Jehovah, because he hearethMy voice and my supplications.
Because he hath inclined his ear unto me,Therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.
The cords of death compassed me,And the pains of Sheol {Or, found me}gat hold upon me:I found trouble and sorrow.
Then called I upon the name of Jehovah:O Jehovah, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.
Gracious is Jehovah, and righteous;Yea, our God is merciful.
Jehovah preserveth the simple:I was brought low, and he saved me.
Return unto thy rest, O my soul; For Jehovah hath dealt bountifully with thee.
For thou hast delivered my soul from death,Mine eyes from tears,And my feet from falling.
I will walk before JehovahIn the {Hebrew: lands.}land of the living.
I {Or, believed, when I spake thus}believe, for I will speak:I was greatly afflicted:
I said in my {Or, alarm}haste,All men are liars.
What shall I render unto JehovahFor all his benefits toward me?
I will take the cup of salvation,And call upon the name of Jehovah.
I will pay my vows unto Jehovah,Yea, in the presence of all his people.
Precious in the sight of JehovahIs the death of his saints.
O Jehovah, truly I am thy servant:I am thy servant, the son of thy handmaid;Thou hast loosed my bonds.
I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving,And will call upon the name of Jehovah.
I will pay my vows unto Jehovah,Yea, in the presence of all his people,
In the courts of Jehovah's house,In the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. {Hebrew: Hallelujah.}Praise ye Jehovah.
for I say unto you, I shall not drink from henceforth of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.
He shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth,A morning without clouds,When the tender grass springeth out of the earth,Through clear shining after rain.
The cords of death compassed me,And the pains of Sheol {Or, found me}gat hold upon me:I found trouble and sorrow.
