I love Jehovah, because he heareth
My voice and my supplications.
Because he hath inclined his ear unto me,
Therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.
The cords of death compassed me,
And the pains of Sheol {Or, found me}gat hold upon me:
I found trouble and sorrow.
Then called I upon the name of Jehovah:
O Jehovah, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.
Gracious is Jehovah, and righteous;
Yea, our God is merciful.
Jehovah preserveth the simple:
I was brought low, and he saved me.
Return unto thy rest, O my soul;
For Jehovah hath dealt bountifully with thee.
For thou hast delivered my soul from death,
Mine eyes from tears,
And my feet from falling.
I will walk before Jehovah
In the {Hebrew: lands.}land of the living.
I {Or, believed, when I spake thus}believe, for I will speak:
I was greatly afflicted:
I said in my {Or, alarm}haste,
All men are liars.
What shall I render unto Jehovah
For all his benefits toward me?
I will take the cup of salvation,
And call upon the name of Jehovah.
I will pay my vows unto Jehovah,
Yea, in the presence of all his people.
Precious in the sight of Jehovah
Is the death of his saints.
O Jehovah, truly I am thy servant:
I am thy servant, the son of thy handmaid;
Thou hast loosed my bonds.
I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving,
And will call upon the name of Jehovah.
I will pay my vows unto Jehovah,
Yea, in the presence of all his people,
In the courts of Jehovah's house,
In the midst of thee, O Jerusalem.
{Hebrew: Hallelujah.}Praise ye Jehovah.
Querverweise zu Psalm 116,15 Ps 116,15
The wicked watcheth the righteous,And seeketh to slay him.
Jehovah will not leave him in his hand,Nor condemn him when he is judged.
He will redeem their soul from {Or, fraud}oppression and violence;And precious will their blood be in his sight:
And though men be risen up to pursue thee, and to seek thy soul, yet the soul of my lord shall be bound in the bundle of {Or, the living}life with Jehovah thy God; and the souls of thine enemies, them shall he sling out, as from the hollow of a sling.
Thou shalt come to thy grave in a full age,Like as a shock of grain cometh in in its season.
And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and that he was carried away by the angels into Abraham's bosom: and the rich man also died, and was buried.
and the Living one; and I {Greek: became.}was dead, and behold, I am alive {Greek: unto the ages of the ages.}for evermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.
and they sing as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four living creatures and the elders: and no man could learn the song save the hundred and forty and four thousand, even they that had been purchased out of the earth.
