A Song of Ascents.
They that trust in Jehovah
Are as mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abideth for ever.
 As the mountains are round about Jerusalem,
So Jehovah is round about his people
From this time forth and for evermore.
 For the sceptre of wickedness shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous;
That the righteous put not forth their hands unto iniquity.
 Do good, O Jehovah, unto those that are good,
And to them that are upright in their hearts.
 But as for such as turn aside unto their crooked ways,
Jehovah will lead them forth with the workers of iniquity.
Peace be upon Israel.
Querverweise zu Psalm 125,4 Ps 125,4
For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.Blessed is he that considereth {Or, the weak}the poor:Jehovah will deliver him in the day of evil.
Jehovah will preserve him, and keep him alive,And he shall be blessed {Or, in the land}upon the earth;And deliver not thou him unto the will of his enemies.
Jehovah will support him upon the couch of languishing:Thou {Hebrew: turnest, or, changest.}makest all his bed in his sickness.
Blessed is the man unto whom Jehovah imputeth not iniquity,And in whose spirit there is no guile.
Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion:Build thou the walls of Jerusalem.
For Jehovah God is a sun and a shield:Jehovah will give grace and glory;No good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
A Psalm of Asaph. {Or, Only good is God}Surely God is good to Israel,Even to such as are pure in heart.
Let my heart be perfect in thy statutes,That I be not put to shame.
and if thou {Or, bestow on the hungry that which thy soul desireth}draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul: then shall thy light rise in darkness, and thine obscurity be as the noonday;
Jehovah is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
and Jehovah will guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in {Or, drought}dry places, and make strong thy bones; and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.
Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!
for God is not unrighteous to forget your work and the love which ye showed toward his name, in that ye ministered unto the saints, and still do minister.
And in their mouth was found no lie: they are without blemish.
But whoso hath the world's goods, and beholdeth his brother in need, and shutteth up his compassion from him, how doth the love of God abide in him?
My little children, let us not love in word, neither with the tongue; but in deed and truth.
Hereby shall we know that we are of the truth, and shall {Greek: persuade. compare Matthew 28:14.}assure our heart {Or, before him, whereinsoever our heart condemn us; because God & c.}before him:
because if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.
Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, we have boldness toward God;
and whatsoever we ask we receive of him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight.
And this is his commandment, that we should {Greek: believe the name.}believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, even as he gave us commandment.
And he that keepeth his commandments abideth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he gave us.
