For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.
In thee, O Jehovah, do I take refuge;
Let me never be put to shame:
Deliver me in thy righteousness.
 Bow down thine ear unto me; deliver me speedily:
Be thou to me a strong rock,
A house of {Hebrew: fortresses.}defence to save me.
 For thou art my rock and my fortress;
Therefore for thy name's sake lead me and guide me.
 Pluck me out of the net that they have laid privily for me;
For thou art my stronghold.
 Into thy hand I commend my spirit:
Thou hast redeemed me, O Jehovah, thou God of truth.
 I hate them that regard lying vanities;
But I trust in Jehovah.
 I will be glad and rejoice in thy lovingkindness;
For thou hast seen my affliction:
Thou hast known  {Or, the adversities of my soul}my soul in adversities;
 And thou hast not shut me up into the hand of the enemy;
Thou hast set my feet in a large place.
 Have mercy upon me, O Jehovah, for I am in distress:
Mine eye wasteth away with grief, yea, my soul and my body.
 For my life is spent with sorrow,
And my years with sighing:
My strength faileth because of mine iniquity,
And my bones are wasted away.
 Because of all mine adversaries I am become a reproach,
Yea, unto my neighbors exceedingly,
And a fear to mine acquaintance:
They that did see me without fled from me.
 I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind:
I am like a broken vessel.
 For I have heard the defaming of many,
Terror on every side:
While they took counsel together against me
They devised to take away my life.
 But I trusted in thee, O Jehovah:
I said, Thou art my God.
 My times are in thy hand:
Deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me.
 Make thy face to shine upon thy servant:
Save me in thy lovingkindness.
 Let me not be put to shame, O Jehovah; for I have called upon thee:
Let the wicked be put to shame, let them be silent in Sheol.
 Let the lying lips be dumb,
Which speak against the righteous insolently,
With pride and contempt.
 Oh how great is thy goodness,
Which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee,
Which thou hast wrought for them that take refuge in thee,
Before the sons of men!
 In the covert of thy presence wilt thou hide them from the plottings of man:
Thou wilt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.
 Blessed be Jehovah;
For he hath showed me his marvellous lovingkindness in a strong city.
 As for me, I said in my {Or, alarm}haste,
I am cut off from before thine eyes:
Nevertheless thou heardest the voice of my supplications,
When I cried unto thee.
 Oh love Jehovah, all ye his saints:
Jehovah preserveth  {Or, faithfulness}the faithful,
And plentifully rewardeth him that dealeth proudly.
 Be strong, and let your heart take courage,
All ye that {Or, wait for}hope in Jehovah.
Querverweise zu Psalm 31,2 Ps 31,2
Deliver me in thy righteousness, and rescue me:Bow down thine ear unto me, and save me.
But I am poor and needy;Yet the Lord thinketh upon me:Thou art my help and my deliverer;Make no tarrying, O my God.
For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David the servant of Jehovah, {See 2 Samuel 22:1-51.}who spake unto Jehovah the words of this song in the day that Jehovah delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul: and he said,I love thee, O Jehovah, my strength.
Be thou to me a rock of habitation, whereunto I may continually resort:Thou hast given commandment to save me;For thou art my rock and my fortress.
A Prayer of David.Bow down thine ear, O Jehovah, and answer me;For I am poor and needy.
And hide not thy face from thy servant;For I am in distress; answer me speedily.
Jehovah is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;My God, my rock, in whom I will take refuge;My shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower.
A Prayer of Moses the man of God.Lord, thou hast been our dwelling-placeIn all generations.
Lord, hear my voice:Let thine ears be attentiveTo the voice of my supplications.
A Psalm of Asaph.O God, the nations are come into thine inheritance;Thy holy temple have they defiled;They have laid Jerusalem in heaps.
With God is my salvation and my glory:The rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.
{Or, Because thou hast said, Jehovah is my refuge}For thou, O Jehovah, art my refuge!Thou hast made the Most High thy habitation;
Incline thine ear, and hear the words of the wise,And apply thy heart unto my knowledge.
Hide not thy face from me in the day of my distress:Incline thine ear unto me;In the day when I call answer me speedily.
But Jehovah hath been my high tower,And my God the rock of my refuge.
He shall dwell on high; his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks; his bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.
Make haste to answer me, O Jehovah; my spirit faileth:Hide not thy face from me,Lest I become like them that go down into the pit.
For their rock is not as our Rock,Even our enemies themselves being judges.
He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood abideth in me, and I in him.
And why dost thou not pardon my transgression, and take away mine iniquity?For now shall I lie down in the dust;And thou wilt seek me diligently, but I shall not be.
God, my rock, in him will I take refuge;My shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge;My saviour, thou savest me from violence.
No man hath beheld God at any time: if we love one another, God abideth in us, and his love is perfected in us:
I say unto you, that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of man cometh, shall he find {Or, the faith}faith on the earth?
Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God abideth in him, and he in God.
And we know and have believed the love which God hath {Or, in our case}in us. God is love; and he that abideth in love abideth in God, and God abideth in him.
