For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.The king shall joy in thy strength, O Jehovah;And in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!
Thou hast given him his heart's desire,And hast not withholden the request of his lips. [Selah
For thou meetest him with the blessings of {Or, good things}goodness:Thou settest a crown of fine gold on his head.
He asked life of thee, thou gavest it him,Even length of days for ever and ever.
His glory is great in thy salvation:Honor and majesty dost thou lay upon him.
For thou {Hebrew: settest him to be blessings. See Genesis 12:2.}makest him most blessed for ever:Thou makest him glad with joy in thy presence.
For the king trusteth in Jehovah;And through the lovingkindness of the Most High he shall not be moved.
Some trust in chariots, and some in horses;But we will make mention of the name of Jehovah our God.
A Psalm of David.Jehovah saith unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand,Until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
Jehovah will {Or, stretch}send forth the rod of thy strength out of Zion:Rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.
Thy people {Hebrew: are freewill-offering.}offer themselves willinglyIn the day of thy {Or, army}power, in {Or, in the beauty of holiness}holy array:Out of the womb of the morning {Or, Thy youth are to thee as the dew}Thou hast the dew of thy youth.
Jehovah hath sworn, and will not repent:Thou art a priest for everAfter the {Or, manner}order of Melchizedek.
The Lord at thy right hand {Or, Hath stricken}Will strike through kings in the day of his wrath.
He will judge among the nations, {Or, The places are full of &c.}He {Or, hath filled}will fill the places with dead bodies;He {Or, Hath stricken}will strike through the head {Or, over a wide land}in many countries.
We will triumph in thy {Or, victory}salvation,And in the name of our God we will set up our banners:Jehovah fulfil all thy petitions.
For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.Jehovah answer thee in the day of trouble;The name of the God of Jacob set thee up on high;
Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this {Or hour?}hour. But for this cause came I unto this hour.
Father, glorify thy name. There came therefore a voice out of heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.
And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my wrath, it upheld me.
And {Or, I will tread…and make…and I will pour out}I trod down the peoples in mine anger, and {Or, according to another reading, brake them in pieces}made them drunk in my wrath, and I {Or, brought down their strength to the earth}poured out their lifeblood on the earth.
When therefore he was gone out, Jesus saith, Now {Or, was}is the Son of man glorified, and God {Or, was}is glorified in him;
and God shall glorify him in himself, and straightway shall he glorify him.
And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was priest of {Hebrew: El Elyon.}God Most High.
And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of {Hebrew: El Elyon.}God Most High, {Or, maker}possessor of heaven and earth:
and blessed be {Hebrew: El Elyon.}God Most High, who hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him a tenth of all.
named of God a high priest after the order of Melchizedek.
But we behold him who hath been made {Or, for a little while lower}a little lower than the angels, even Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that by the grace of God he should taste of death for every man.
He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Most High: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
and he shall reign over the house of Jacob {Greek: unto the ages.}for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
Yet it pleased Jehovah to bruise him; he hath {Hebrew: made him sick.}put him to grief: {Or, when his soul shall make an offering}when thou shalt make his soul {Hebrew: a trespass-offering.}an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of Jehovah shall prosper in his hand.
Who in the days of his flesh, having offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him {Or, out of}from death, and having been heard for his godly fear,
And thy house and thy kingdom shall be made sure for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.
Honor and majesty are before him:Strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.
Bless Jehovah, O my soul.O Jehovah my God, thou art very great;Thou art clothed with honor and majesty:
But we behold him who hath been made {Or, for a little while lower}a little lower than the angels, even Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that by the grace of God he should taste of death for every man.
and I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and be thou a blessing:
And the glory which thou hast given me I have given unto them; that they may be one, even as we are one;
As for me, {Or, let me}I shall behold thy face in righteousness; {Or, let me}I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with beholding thy form.
And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, {Isaiah 8:17 f.}Behold, I and the children whom God hath given me.

Thy hand will find out all thine enemies;Thy right hand will find out those that hate thee.
Thou wilt make them as a fiery furnace in the time of thine {Or, presence Hebrew: countenance.}anger:Jehovah will swallow them up in his wrath,And the fire shall devour them.
Their fruit wilt thou destroy from the earth,And their seed from among the children of men.
For they intended evil against thee;They conceived a device which they are not able to perform.
For thou wilt make them turn their back;Thou wilt make ready with thy bowstrings against their face.
Be thou exalted, O Jehovah, in thy strength:So will we sing and praise thy power.
