Versliste
For what shall a man be profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and forfeit his life? or what shall a man give in exchange for his life?
The same following after Paul and us cried out, saying, These men are {Greek: bondservants.}servants of the Most High God, who proclaim unto you {Or, a way}the way of salvation.
To give knowledge of salvation unto his peopleIn the remission of their sins,
Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; And uphold me with a willing spirit.
And every firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a {Or, kid}lamb; and if thou wilt not redeem it, then thou shalt break its neck: and all the first-born of man among thy sons shalt thou redeem.
He was oppressed, yet when he was afflicted he opened not his mouth; as a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and as a sheep that before its shearers is dumb, so he opened not his mouth.
Because Christ also {Many ancient authorities read died.}suffered for sins once, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God; being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;
who was delivered up for our trespasses, and was raised for our justification.
for the showing, I say, of his righteousness at this present season: that he might himself be {See chapter 2:13 margin.}just, and the {See chapter 2:13 margin.}justifier of him that {Greek: is of faith.}hath faith in Jesus.
Oh magnify Jehovah with me,And let us exalt his name together.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth him that sent me, hath eternal life, and cometh not into judgment, but hath passed out of death into life.
ל LAMEDH.For ever, O Jehovah,Thy word is settled in heaven.
God is not a man, that he should lie,Neither the son of man, that he should repent:Hath he said, and will he not do it?Or hath he spoken, and will he not make it good?
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth hath eternal life.
He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in him: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he hath not believed in the witness that God hath borne concerning his Son.
If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for the witness of God is this, that he hath borne witness concerning his Son.
He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in him: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he hath not believed in the witness that God hath borne concerning his Son.
For what saith the scripture? {Genesis 15:6.}And Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned unto him for righteousness.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
So the church throughout all Judæa and Galilee and Samaria had peace, being {Greek: builded up.}edified; and, walking {Or, by}in the fear of the Lord and {Or, by}in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, was multiplied.
Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; And uphold me with a willing spirit.
Jehovah is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart,And saveth such as are of a contrite spirit.
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit:A broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
who his own self {Or, carried up…to the tree Compare Colossians 2:14; 1 Macc. 4.53 (Greek:).}bare our sins in his body upon the tree, that we, having died unto sins, might live unto righteousness; by whose {Greek: bruise.}stripes ye were healed.
But {Or, when we are judged of the Lord, we are chastened.}when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.
And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, in whom ye were sealed unto the day of redemption.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and to-day, (yea) and {Greek: unto the ages.}for ever.
I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor anything taken from it; and God hath done it, that men should fear before him.
For, {Isaiah 40:6 ff.}All flesh is as grass,And all the glory thereof as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower falleth:
But the {Greek: saying.}word of the Lord abideth for ever. And this is the {Greek: saying.}word of good tidings which was {See verse 12.}preached unto you.
If we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in the darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
