Versliste
Then came he unto the gate which looketh toward the east, and went up the steps thereof: and he measured the threshold of the gate, one reed broad; {Or, even one threshold}and the other threshold, one reed broad.
And every {Or, guard chamber}lodge was one reed long, and one reed broad; and the space between the lodges was five cubits; and the threshold of the gate by the porch of the gate toward the house was one reed.
{This verse is omitted in several Hebrew Massoretic text.}He measured also the porch of the gate toward the house, one reed.
Then measured he the porch of the gate, eight cubits; and the {Or, jambs and so throughout this chapter.}posts thereof, two cubits; and the porch of the gate was toward the house.
And the lodges of the gate eastward were three on this side, and three on that side; they three were of one measure: and the posts had one measure on this side and on that side.
And he measured the breadth of the opening of the gate, ten cubits; and the length of the gate, thirteen cubits;
and a border before the lodges, one cubit on this side, and a border, one cubit on that side; and the lodges, six cubits on this side, and six cubits on that side.
And he measured the gate from the roof of the one lodge to the roof of the other, a breadth of five and twenty cubits; door against door.
He made also posts, threescore cubits; and the court reached unto the posts, round about the gate.
And from the forefront of the gate at the entrance unto the forefront of the {Or, porch of the inner gate}inner porch of the gate were fifty cubits.
And there were closed windows to the lodges, and to their posts within the gate round about, and likewise to the {Or, colonnade The meaning of the Hebrew word is uncertain.}arches; and windows were round about inward; and upon each post were palm-trees.
And the cherubim lifted up their wings, and mounted up from the earth in my sight when they went forth, and the wheels {Or, over against}beside them: and they stood at the door of the east gate of Jehovah's house; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them above.
And the glory of Jehovah went up from the midst of the city, and stood upon the mountain which is on the east side of the city.
And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east: and his voice was like the sound of many waters; and the earth shined with his glory.
And the glory of Jehovah came into the house by the way of the gate whose prospect is toward the east.
For as the lightning cometh forth from the east, and is seen even unto the west; so shall be the {Greek: presence.}coming of the Son of man.
Yet they shall be ministers in my sanctuary, having oversight at the gates of the house, and ministering in the house: they shall slay the burnt-offering and the sacrifice for the people, and they shall stand before them to minister unto them.
At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he that is to die be put to death; at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death.
One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall a matter be established.
But if he hear thee not, take with thee one or two more, that at the mouth of two witnesses or three every word may be established.
This is the third time I am coming to you. At the mouth of two witnesses or three shall every word be established.
Against an elder receive not an accusation, except at the mouth of two or three witnesses.
And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is the truth.
For there are three who bear witness, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and the three agree in one.
If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true.
And when he was come to Jerusalem, he assayed to join himself to the disciples: and they were all afraid of him, not believing that he was a disciple.
But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how at Damascus he had preached boldly in the name of Jesus.
And when he was minded to pass over into Achaia, the brethren encouraged him, and wrote to the disciples to receive him: and when he was come, he {Or, helped much through grace them that had believed}helped them much that had believed through grace;
I commend unto you Phoebe our sister, who is a {Or, deaconess}servant of the church that is at Cenchreae:
Are we beginning again to commend ourselves? or need we, as do some, epistles of commendation to you or from you?
Aristarchus my fellow-prisoner saluteth you, and Mark, the cousin of Barnabas (touching whom ye received commandments; if he come unto you, receive him),
took the branches of the palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried out, Hosanna: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel.
After these things I saw, and behold, a great multitude, which no man could number, out of every nation and of all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, arrayed in white robes, and palms in their hands;
(for the fruit of the light is in all goodness and righteousness and truth),
{Greek: Judas.}Jude, a {Greek: bondservant.}servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of {Or Jacob}James, {Or, to them that are beloved in God the Father, and kept for Jesus Christ, being called}to them that are called, beloved in God the Father, and kept for Jesus Christ:
Open to me the gates of righteousness:I will enter into them, I will give thanks unto {Hebrew: Jah.}Jehovah.
This is the gate of Jehovah;The righteous shall enter into it.
The righteous shall flourish like the palm-tree:He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
