Vers

1 wird geladen ... Rejoice not, O Israel, {Or, unto exulation}for joy, like the peoples; {Or, that }for thou hast played the harlot, departing from thy God; thou hast loved hire upon every grain-floor.

2 wird geladen ... The threshing-floor and the winepress shall not feed them, and the new wine shall fail her.

3 wird geladen ... They shall not dwell in Jehovah's land; but Ephraim shall return to Egypt, and they shall eat unclean food in Assyria.

4 wird geladen ... They shall not pour out wine-offerings to Jehovah, {Or, neither shall their sacrifices be pleasing unto him: their bread shall be unto them &c.}neither shall they be pleasing unto him: their sacrifices shall be unto them as the bread of mourners; all that eat thereof shall be polluted; for their bread shall be for their appetite; it shall not come into the house of Jehovah.

5 wird geladen ... What will ye do in the day of solemn assembly, and in the day of the feast of Jehovah?

6 wird geladen ... For, lo, they are gone away from destruction; yet Egypt shall gather them up, Memphis shall bury them; their pleasant things of silver, nettles shall possess them; thorns shall be in their tents.

7 wird geladen ... The days of visitation are come, the days of recompense are come; Israel shall know it: the prophet is a fool, the man that hath the spirit is mad, for the abundance of thine iniquity, and because the enmity is great.

8 wird geladen ... Ephraim {Or, watcheth against}was a watchman with my God: as for the prophet, a fowler's snare is in all his ways, and enmity in the house of his God.

9 wird geladen ... They have deeply corrupted themselves, as in the days of Gibeah: he will remember their iniquity, he will visit their sins.

10 wird geladen ... I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers as the first-ripe in the fig-tree at its first season: but they came to Baal-peor, and {Or, separated}consecrated themselves unto the {Hebrew: shame.}shameful thing, and became abominable like that which they loved.

11 wird geladen ... As for Ephraim, their glory shall fly away like a bird: there shall be no birth, and none with child, and no conception.

12 wird geladen ... Though they bring up their children, yet will I bereave them, so that not a man shall be left: yea, woe also to them when I depart from them!

13 wird geladen ... Ephraim, {Or, as I have seen, is like Tyre, that is planted &c.}like as I have seen Tyre, is planted in a pleasant place: but Ephraim shall bring out his children to the slayer.

14 wird geladen ... Give them, O Jehovah— what wilt thou give? give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts.

15 wird geladen ... All their wickedness is in Gilgal; for there I hated them: because of the wickedness of their doings I will drive them out of my house; I will love them no more; all their princes are revolters.

16 wird geladen ... Ephraim is smitten, their root is dried up, they shall bear no fruit: yea, though they bring forth, yet will I slay the beloved fruit of their womb.

17 wird geladen ... My God will cast them away, because they did not hearken unto him; and they shall be wanderers among the nations.

Ri 20,1 wird geladen ... Then all the children of Israel went out, and the congregation was assembled as one man, from Dan even to Beer-sheba, with the land of Gilead, unto Jehovah at Mizpah.

Ri 20,2 wird geladen ... And the {Hebrew: corners.}chiefs of all the people, {Or, even all}even of all the tribes of Israel, presented themselves in the assembly of the people of God, four hundred thousand footmen that drew sword.

Ri 20,3 wird geladen ... (Now the children of Benjamin heard that the children of Israel were gone up to Mizpah.) And the children of Israel said, Tell us, how was this wickedness brought to pass?

Ri 20,4 wird geladen ... And the Levite, the husband of the woman that was murdered, answered and said, I came into Gibeah that belongeth to Benjamin, I and my concubine, to lodge.

Ri 20,5 wird geladen ... And the men of Gibeah rose against me, and beset the house round about me by night; me they thought to have slain, and my concubine they forced, and she is dead.

Ri 20,6 wird geladen ... And I took my concubine, and cut her in pieces, and sent her throughout all the country of the inheritance of Israel; for they have committed lewdness and folly in Israel.

Ri 20,7 wird geladen ... Behold, ye children of Israel, all of you, give here your advice and counsel.

Ri 20,8 wird geladen ... And all the people arose as one man, saying, We will not any of us go to his tent, neither will we any of us turn unto his house.

Ri 20,9 wird geladen ... But now this is the thing which we will do to Gibeah: we will go up against it by lot;

Ri 20,10 wird geladen ... and we will take ten men of a hundred throughout all the tribes of Israel, and a hundred of a thousand, and a thousand out of ten thousand, to fetch victuals for the people, that they may do, when they come to {Hebrew: Geba.}Gibeah of Benjamin, according to all the folly that they have wrought in Israel.

Ri 20,12 wird geladen ... And the tribes of Israel sent men through all the {Hebrew: tribes. See Numbers 4:18; 1 Samuel 9:21}tribe of Benjamin, saying, What wickedness is this that is come to pass among you?

Ri 20,13 wird geladen ... Now therefore deliver up the men, the base fellows, that are in Gibeah, that we may put them to death, and put away evil from Israel. But {Another reading is, the children of Benjamin.}Benjamin would not hearken to the voice of their brethren the children of Israel.

Ri 20,14 wird geladen ... And the children of Benjamin gathered themselves together out of the cities unto Gibeah, to go out to battle against the children of Israel.

Ri 20,15 wird geladen ... And the children of Benjamin were numbered on that day out of the cities twenty and six thousand men that drew sword, besides the inhabitants of Gibeah, who were numbered seven hundred chosen men.

Ri 20,16 wird geladen ... Among all this people there were seven hundred chosen men lefthanded; every one could sling stones at a hair-breadth, and not miss.

Ri 20,17 wird geladen ... And the men of Israel, besides Benjamin, were numbered four hundred thousand men that drew sword: all these were men of war.

Ri 20,18 wird geladen ... And the children of Israel arose, and went up to Beth-el, and asked counsel of God; and they said, Who shall go up for us first to battle against the children of Benjamin? And Jehovah said, Judah shall go up first.

Ri 20,19 wird geladen ... And the children of Israel rose up in the morning, and encamped against Gibeah.

Ri 20,20 wird geladen ... And the men of Israel went out to battle against Benjamin; and the men of Israel set the battle in array against them at Gibeah.

Ri 20,21 wird geladen ... And the children of Benjamin came forth out of Gibeah, and destroyed down to the ground of the Israelites on that day twenty and two thousand men.
