A Psalm of David.
Jehovah, I have called upon thee; make haste unto me:
Give ear unto my voice, when I call unto thee.
Let my prayer be set forth as incense before thee;
The lifting up of my hands as the evening {Or, oblation}sacrifice.
Set a watch, O Jehovah, before my mouth;
Keep the door of my lips.
Incline not my heart to any evil thing,
To practise deeds of wickedness
With men that work iniquity:
And let me not eat of their dainties.
Let the righteous smite me, it shall be a kindness;
And let him reprove me, it shall be as oil upon the head;
Let not my head refuse it:
For {Or, still is my prayer against their wickedness}even in their {Or, calamities}wickedness shall my prayer continue.
Their judges are thrown down by the sides of the rock;
And they shall hear my words; for they are sweet.
As when one ploweth and cleaveth the earth,
Our bones are scattered at the mouth of Sheol.
For mine eyes are unto thee, O Jehovah the Lord:
In thee do I take refuge; {Or, pour thou not out my life}leave not my soul destitute.
Keep me from the snare which they have laid for me,
And from the gins of the workers of iniquity.
Let the wicked fall into their own nets,
Whilst that I withal {Hebrew: pass over.}escape.
Querverweise zu Psalm 141,10 Ps 141,10
He hath made a pit, and digged it,And is fallen into the ditch which he made.
His mischief shall return upon his own head,And his violence shall come down upon his own pate.
Let destruction come upon him unawares;And let his net that he hath hid catch himself: {Or, Into that very destruction let him fall}With destruction let him fall therein.
The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow,To cast down the poor and needy,To slay such as are upright in the way.
Their sword shall enter into their own heart,And their bows shall be broken.
But God will shoot at them;With an arrow suddenly shall they be wounded.
So {Or, shall they against whom their tongue was make them to stumble}they shall be made to stumble, their own tongue being against them:All that see them shall {Or, flee away}wag the head.
As for the head of those that compass me about,Let the mischief of their own lips cover them.
So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then was the king's wrath pacified.
The righteous is delivered out of trouble,And the wicked cometh in his stead.
