Versliste
He sendeth forth springs into the valleys;They run among the mountains;
They give drink to every beast of the field;The wild asses quench their thirst.
By them the birds of the heavens have their habitation;They {Hebrew: utter their voice.}sing among the branches.
He watereth the mountains from his chambers:The earth is filled with the fruit of thy works.
He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle,And herb for the {Or, labor}service of man;That he may bring forth {Hebrew: bread.}food out of the earth,
And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, {Hebrew: To make his face to shine with oil.}And oil to make his face to shine,And bread that strengtheneth man's heart.
The trees of Jehovah are filled with moisture,The cedars of Lebanon, which he hath planted;
Where the birds make their nests:As for the stork, the fir-trees are her house.
The high mountains are for the wild goats;The rocks are a refuge for the conies.
Yea, he ladeth the thick cloud with moisture;He spreadeth abroad the cloud of his {Hebrew: light.}lightning:
And it is turned round about by his guidance,That they may do whatsoever he commandeth themUpon the face of the habitable world,
Who hath cleft a channel for the waterflood,Or the way for the lightning of the thunder;
To cause it to rain on a land where no man is;On the wilderness, wherein there is no man;
So then neither is he that planteth anything, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.
and he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee; he will also bless the fruit of thy body and the fruit of thy ground, thy grain and thy new wine and thine oil, the increase of thy cattle and the young of thy flock, in the land which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee.
that I will give the rain of your land in its season, the former rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy grain, and thy new wine, and thine oil.
Thou mayest not eat within thy gates the tithe of thy grain, or of thy new wine, or of thine oil, or the firstlings of thy herd or of thy flock, nor any of thy vows which thou vowest, nor thy freewill-offerings, nor the heave-offering of thy hand;
And thou shalt eat before Jehovah thy God, in the place which he shall choose, to cause his name to dwell there, the tithe of thy grain, of thy new wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herd and of thy flock; that thou mayest learn to fear Jehovah thy God always.
The first-fruits of thy grain, of thy new wine, and of thine oil, and the first of the fleece of thy sheep, shalt thou give him.
And the vine said unto them, Should I leave my new wine, which cheereth God and man, and go to wave to and fro over the trees?
A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh glad the life; and money answereth all things.
And ye have an anointing from the Holy One, {Some very ancient authorities read and ye all know.}and ye know all things.
And as for you, the anointing which ye received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any one teach you; but as his anointing teacheth you concerning all things, {Or, so it is true and is no lie; and even as &c.}and is true, and is no lie, and even as it taught you, {Or, abide ye}ye abide in him.
Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall not hunger, and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
The mountains were covered with the shadow of it,And {Or, the cedars of God with the boughs thereof}the boughs thereof were like {Or, goodly cedars}cedars of God.
And he built the walls of the house within with boards of cedar: {Or, both the floors of the house and the walls &c. (and so in verse 16)}from the floor of the house unto the walls of the ceiling, he covered them on the inside with wood; and he covered the floor of the house with boards of {Or, cypress}fir.
and two doors of {Or, cypress}fir-wood: the two leaves of the one door were folding, and the two leaves of the other door were folding.
Now therefore send me a man skilful to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, and in iron, and in purple, and crimson, and blue, and that knoweth how to grave all manner of gravings, to be with the skilful men that are with me in Judah and in Jerusalem, whom David my father did provide.
And the greater house he ceiled with {Or, cypress-wood}fir-wood, which he overlaid with fine gold, and wrought thereon palm-trees and chains.
and the stork, the {Or, ibis}heron after its kind, and the hoopoe, and the bat.
and the stork, and the heron after its kind, and the hoopoe, and the bat.
Yea, the stork in the heavens knoweth her appointed times; and the turtle-dove and the swallow and the crane observe the time of their coming; but my people know not the law of Jehovah.
The conies are but a feeble folk,Yet make they their houses in the rocks;
