And beginning from Moses and from all the prophets, he interpreted to them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass away from the law, till all things be accomplished.
Or thinkest thou that I cannot beseech my Father, and he shall even now send me more than twelve legions of angels?
How then should the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?
For I say unto you, that this which is written must be fulfilled in me, {Isaiah 53:12.}And he was reckoned with transgressors: for that which concerneth me hath {Greek: end.}fulfilment.
And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he sent, him ye believe not.
and ye will not come to me, that ye may have life.
But Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
Jesus said unto them, Is it not for this cause that ye err, that ye know not the scriptures, nor the power of God?
But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,
{Exodus 3:6.}I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.
And it came to pass, after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the {Or, doctors See chapter 5:17; Acts 5:34.}teachers, both hearing them, and asking them questions:
and all that heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers.
And when they saw him, they were astonished; and his mother said unto him, {Greek: Child.}Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I sought thee sorrowing.
If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came (and the scripture cannot be broken),
and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, becoming obedient even unto death, yea, the death of the cross.
And Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, {Or, God have mercy on thee}Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall never be unto thee.
But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art a stumbling-block unto me: for thou mindest not the things of God, but the things of men.
Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to the Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.
But John would have hindered him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?
But Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer {Or, me}it now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffereth him.
And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway from the water: and lo, the heavens were opened {Some ancient authorities omit unto him.}unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove, and coming upon him;
and lo, a voice out of the heavens, saying, {Or, This is my Son; my beloved in whom I am well pleased. See chapter 12:18}This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
For Ezra had set his heart to seek the law of Jehovah, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and ordinances.
They gave me also gall for my food;And in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.
they gave him wine to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted it, he would not drink.
And they offered him wine mingled with myrrh: but he received it not.

After this Jesus, knowing that all things are now finished, {Psalm 69:21}that the scripture might be accomplished, saith, I thirst.
There was set there a vessel full of vinegar: so they put a sponge full of the vinegar upon hyssop, and brought it to his mouth.
When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up his spirit.
Let not them that wait for thee be put to shame through me, O Lord Jehovah of hosts:Let not those that seek thee be brought to dishonor through me, O God of Israel.
though he was a Son, yet learned obedience by the things which he suffered;
I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add {Greek: upon.}unto them, God shall add {Greek: upon.}unto him the plagues which are written in this book:
and if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the tree of life, and out of the holy city, which are {Or, even from the things which are written}written in this book.
And Samuel said, Hath Jehovah as great delight in burnt-offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of Jehovah? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as idolatry and teraphim. Because thou hast rejected the word of Jehovah, he hath also rejected thee from being king.
