Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still hold fast thine integrity? renounce God, and die.
But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the {Or, impious}foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.
And Jehovah God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a help {Or, answering to}meet for him.
For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.They are corrupt, they have done abominable works;There is none that doeth good.
For the Chief Musician; set to Mahalath. Maschil of David.The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity;There is none that doeth good.
Let not my lord, I pray thee, regard this worthless fellow, even Nabal; for as his name is, so is he; {That is, Fool.}Nabal is his name, and folly is with him: but I thy handmaid saw not the young men of my lord, whom thou didst send.
See now that I, even I, am he,And there is no god with me:I kill, and I make alive;I wound, and I heal;And there is none that can deliver out of my hand.
Jehovah killeth, and maketh alive:He bringeth down to Sheol, and bringeth up.
For he maketh sore, and bindeth up;He woundeth, and his hands make whole.
