Grace to you and peace be multiplied in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord;
He brought him unto Jesus. Jesus looked upon him, and said, Thou art Simon the son of {Greek: Joanes: called in Matthew 16:17, Jonah.}John: thou shalt be called Cephas (which is by interpretation, {That is, Rock or Stone.}Peter).
Now the names of the twelve apostles are these: The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; {Or, Jacob}James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;
And I also say unto thee, that thou art {Greek: Petros.}Peter, and upon this {Greek: petra.}rock I will build my church; and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.

Verily thou art a God that hidest thyself, O God of Israel, the Saviour.
And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.
This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
For to this end we labor and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of them that believe.
to the only God our Saviour, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and power, before all time, and now, and {Greek: unto all the ages.}for evermore. Amen.
And because iniquity shall be multiplied, the love of the many shall wax cold.
And {Or, law}the law came in besides, that the trespass might abound; but where sin abounded, grace did abound more exceedingly:
And the God of all grace, who called you unto his eternal glory in Christ, after that ye have suffered a little while, shall himself {Or, restore}perfect, establish, strengthen {Many ancient authorities add settle.} you.
