Versliste
But we, brethren, being bereaved of you for {Greek: a season of an hour.}a short season, in presence not in heart, endeavored the more exceedingly to see your face with great desire:
only they would that we should remember the poor; which very thing I was also zealous to do.
yet now {Some ancient authorities read ye have been reconciled.}hath he reconciled in the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and without blemish and unreproveable before him:
whom we proclaim, admonishing every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ;
For there must be also {Greek: heresies.}factions among you, that they that are approved may be made manifest among you.
For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth.
But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve in his craftiness, your {Greek: thoughts. See chapter 3:14.}minds should be corrupted from the simplicity and the purity that is toward Christ.
Beware of the dogs, beware of the evil workers, beware of the concision:
In all thy ways acknowledge him,And he will {Or, make straight (or, plain)}direct thy paths.
The righteousness of the perfect shall {Or, make straight (or, plain)}direct his way;But the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.
and make straight paths for your feet, that that which is lame be not {Or, put out of joint}turned out of the way, but rather be healed.
and asked of him letters to Damascus unto the synagogues, that if he found any that were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.
