2 wird geladen ... Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and {Or, cry}preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee.

3 wird geladen ... So Jonah arose, and went unto Nineveh, according to the word of Jehovah. Now Nineveh was {Hebrew: a city great upon God.}an exceeding great city, of three days' journey.

4 wird geladen ... And Jonah began to enter into the city a day's journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown.

5 wird geladen ... And the people of Nineveh believed God; and they proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.

6 wird geladen ... {Or, For word came unto the king &c.}And the tidings reached the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and laid his robe from him, and covered him with sackcloth, and sat in ashes.

7 wird geladen ... And he made proclamation and {Hebrew: said}published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste anything; let them not feed, nor drink water;

8 wird geladen ... but let them be covered with sackcloth, both man and beast, and let them cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in his hands.

9 wird geladen ... Who knoweth whether God will not turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?

10 wird geladen ... And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil which he said he would do unto them; and he did it not.

Jona 1,14 wird geladen ... Wherefore they cried unto Jehovah, and said, We beseech thee, O Jehovah, we beseech thee, let us not perish for this man's life, and lay not upon us innocent blood; for thou, O Jehovah, hast done as it pleased thee.

Jes 55,7 wird geladen ... let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return unto Jehovah, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

Jes 58,6 wird geladen ... Is not this the fast that I have chosen: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the bands of the yoke, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?

Hes 18,21 wird geladen ... But if the wicked turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.

Hes 18,22 wird geladen ... None of his transgressions that he hath committed shall be remembered against him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live.

Hes 18,23 wird geladen ... Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked? saith the Lord Jehovah; and not rather that he should return from his way, and live?

Hes 18,24 wird geladen ... But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? None of his righteous deeds that he hath done shall be remembered: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die.

Hes 18,27 wird geladen ... Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive.

Hes 18,28 wird geladen ... Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die.

Hes 18,30 wird geladen ... Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord Jehovah. Return ye, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; {Or, so shall they not be a stumblingblock of iniquity unto you}so iniquity shall not be your {Hebrew: stumblingblock.}ruin.

Hes 18,31 wird geladen ... Cast away from you all your transgressions, wherein ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

Hes 18,32 wird geladen ... For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord Jehovah: wherefore turn yourselves, and live.

Hes 33,11 wird geladen ... Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

Dan 4,27 wird geladen ... Wherefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable unto thee, and {Or, redeem}break off thy sins by righteousness, and thine iniquities by showing mercy to the poor; if there may be {Or, as otherwise read, a healing of thine error}a lengthening of thy tranquillity.
