A Psalm of the sons of Korah; a Song.
{Or, His foundation in the holy mountains Jehovah loveth, even the gates &c.}His foundation is in the holy mountains.
Jehovah loveth the gates of Zion
More than all the dwellings of Jacob.
Glorious things are spoken of thee,
O city of God. [Selah
I will make mention of {Or, Egypt}Rahab and Babylon as among them that know me:
Behold, Philistia, and Tyre, with {Hebrew: Cush.}Ethiopia:
This one was born there.
Yea, of Zion it shall be said, This one and that one was born in her;
And the Most High himself will establish her.
Jehovah will count, when he writeth up the peoples,
This one was born there. [Selah
They that sing as well as {Or, the players on instruments shall be there}they that dance shall say,
All my fountains are in thee.
Querverweise zu Psalm 87,2 Ps 87,2
Moreover he refused the tent of Joseph,And chose not the tribe of Ephraim,
But chose the tribe of Judah,The mount Zion which he loved.
And he built his sanctuary like the heights,Like the earth which he hath established for ever.
For Jehovah hath chosen Zion;He hath desired it for his habitation.
This is my resting-place for ever:Here will I dwell; for I have desired it.
But unto the place which Jehovah your God shall choose out of all your tribes, to put his name there, even unto his habitation shall ye seek, and thither thou shalt come;
but I have chosen Jerusalem, that my name might be there; and have chosen David to be over my people Israel.
What then shall one answer the messengers of the nation? That Jehovah hath founded Zion, and in her shall the afflicted of his people take refuge.
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of Jehovah shall be delivered; for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be those that escape, as Jehovah hath said, and {Or, in the remnant whom &c.}among the remnant those whom Jehovah doth call.
