For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.
In Jehovah do I take refuge: How say ye to my soul,
Flee {Or, ye birds}as a bird to your mountain;
For, lo, the wicked bend the bow,
They make ready their arrow upon the string,
That they may shoot in darkness at the upright in heart;
{Or, For the foundations are destroyed; What hath the righteous wrought?}If the foundations be destroyed,
What can the righteous do?
Jehovah is in his holy temple;
Jehovah, his throne is in heaven;
His eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men.
Jehovah trieth the righteous;
But the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.
Upon the wicked he will rain snares;
Fire and brimstone and burning wind shall be the portion of their cup.
For Jehovah is righteous; He loveth {Or, righteous deeds}righteousness:
{Or, His countenance doth behold the upright}The upright shall behold his face.
Querverweise zu Psalm 11,7 Ps 11,7
Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated wickedness:Therefore God, thy God, hath anointed theeWith the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
For thou wilt bless the righteous;O Jehovah, thou wilt compass him with favor as with a shield.
The king's strength also loveth justice;Thou dost establish equity;Thou executest justice and righteousness in Jacob.
For thou {Hebrew: settest him to be blessings. See Genesis 12:2.}makest him most blessed for ever:Thou makest him glad with joy in thy presence.
Jehovah openeth the eyes of the blind;Jehovah raiseth up them that are bowed down;Jehovah loveth the righteous;
Behold, the eye of Jehovah is upon them that fear him,Upon them that {Or, wait for}hope in his lovingkindness;
For I, Jehovah, love justice, I hate robbery {Or, for (or, with) a burnt-offering}with iniquity; and I will give them their recompense in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.
The eyes of Jehovah are toward the righteous,And his ears are open unto their cry.
Why art thou {Hebrew: bowed down.}cast down, O my soul?And why art thou disquieted within me?Hope thou in God; for I shall yet praise himFor the help of his countenance.
He withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous:But with kings upon the throneHe setteth them for ever, and they are exalted.
For the eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous,And his ears unto their supplication:But the face of the Lord is upon them that do evil.
