Iron sharpeneth iron;So a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
Whoso keepeth the fig-tree shall eat the fruit thereof;And he that regardeth his master shall be honored.
Seest thou a man {Or, skilful}diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings;He shall not stand before {Hebrew: obscure.}mean men.
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith:
henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give to me at that day; and not to me only, but also to all them that have loved his appearing.
Therefore Jehovah, the God of Israel, saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now Jehovah saith, Be it far from me; for them that honor me I will honor, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.
