Versliste
For thou didst form my {Hebrew: reins.}inward parts:Thou didst {Or, knit me together}cover me in my mother's womb.
I will give thanks unto thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made:Wonderful are thy works; And that my soul knoweth right well.
My frame was not hidden from thee,When I was made in secret,And curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
Thine eyes did see mine unformed substance; And in thy book they were all written,Even the days that were ordained for me,When as yet there was none of them.
How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God!How great is the sum of them!
If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand:When I awake, I am still with thee.
But, O Jehovah of hosts, who judgest righteously, who triest the {Hebrew: reins.}heart and the mind, I shall see thy vengeance on them; for unto thee have I revealed my cause.
I, Jehovah, search the mind, I try the {Hebrew: reins.}heart, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.
But, O Jehovah of hosts, that triest the righteous, that seest the {Hebrew: reins.}heart and the mind, let me see thy vengeance on them; for unto thee have I revealed my cause.
He hath caused the {Hebrew: sons.}shafts of his quiver to enter into my reins.
And I will kill her children with {Or, pestilence}death; and all the churches shall know that I am he that searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto each one of you according to your works.
His {Or, arrows Or, mighty ones}archers compass me round about; He cleaveth my reins asunder, and doth not spare; He poureth out my gall upon the ground.
Whom I, even I, shall see, {Or, for myself}on my side,And mine eyes shall behold, and not as a stranger. My {Hebrew: reins.}heart is consumed within me.
Who hath put wisdom in the {Or, dark clouds}inward parts?Or who hath given understanding to the {Or, meteor}mind?
Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, but establish thou the righteous:For the righteous God trieth the minds and {Hebrew: reins}hearts.
I will bless Jehovah, who hath given me counsel;Yea, my {Hebrew: reins.}heart instructeth me in the night seasons.
Examine me, O Jehovah, and prove me;Try my {Hebrew: reins.}heart and my mind.
For my soul was {Hebrew: was in a ferment.}grieved,And I was pricked in my {Hebrew: reins.}heart:
Yea, my {Hebrew: reins.}heart will rejoice,When thy lips speak right things.
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God afore prepared that we should walk in them.
That path no bird of prey knoweth,Neither hath the falcon's eye seen it:
And all that dwell on the earth shall worship him, every one whose name hath not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb that hath been slain.
Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee, and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee; I have appointed thee a prophet unto the nations.
Many, O Jehovah my God, are the wonderful works which thou hast done,And thy thoughts which are to us-ward; {Or, There is none to be compared unto thee}They cannot be set in order unto thee;If I would declare and speak of them,They are more than can be numbered.
that in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heavens, and as the sand which is upon the seashore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;
And he lodged there that night, and took of that which he had with him a present for Esau his brother:
wherefore also there sprang of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of heaven in multitude, and as the sand, which is by the sea-shore, innumerable.
