Versliste
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except one be born {Or, from above See verse 31, chapter 19:11; James 1:17; 3:15,17}anew, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Now the {Or, unspiritual Greek: psychical.}natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him; and he cannot know them, because they are spiritually {Or, examined}judged.
The {Or, counsel Or, secret}friendship of Jehovah is with them that fear him; {Or, And his covenat, to make them know it}And he will show them his covenant.
The fear of Jehovah is the instruction of wisdom;And before honor goeth humility.
The fear of Jehovah is the {Or, chief part}beginning of knowledge;But the foolish despise wisdom and instruction.
For all these things hath my hand made, and so all these things came to be, saith Jehovah: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and that trembleth at my word.
Thy way, O God, is {Or, in holiness}in the sanctuary:Who is a great god like unto God?
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, {Greek: well-pleasing.}acceptable to God, which is your {Greek: belonging to the reason.}spiritual {Or, worship}service.
But his delight is in the law of Jehovah;And on his law doth he meditate day and night.
My son, if thou wilt receive my words,And lay up my commandments with thee;
So as to incline thine ear unto wisdom,And apply thy heart to understanding;
Yea, if thou cry after discernment,And lift up thy voice for understanding;
If thou seek her as silver,And search for her as for hid treasures:
Then shalt thou understand the fear of Jehovah,And find the knowledge of God.
The words of Jehovah are pure words;As silver tried in a furnace on the earth,Purified seven times.
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deluding your own selves.
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye tithe mint and {Or, dill}anise and cummin, and have left undone the weightier matters of the law, justice, and mercy, and faith: but these ye ought to have done, and not to have left the other undone.
Thy word have I laid up in my heart,That I might not sin against thee.
{Or, Consecrate}Sanctify them in the truth: thy word is truth.
Let a man so account of us, as of ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.
