So they made him a supper there: and Martha served; but Lazarus was one of them that {Greek: reclined}sat at meat with him.
Now Judas also, who {Or, delivered him up}betrayed him, knew the place: for Jesus oft-times resorted thither with his disciples.
On the morrow the multitude that stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was no other {Greek: little boat.}boat there, save one, and that Jesus entered not with his disciples into the boat, but that his disciples went away alone
And when they found him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him, Rabbi, when camest thou hither?
And all the country wept with a loud voice, and all the people passed over: the king also himself passed over the brook Kidron, and all the people passed over, toward the way of the wilderness.
One of the {Greek: bondservants}servants of the high priest, being a kinsman of him whose ear Peter cut off, saith, Did not I see thee in the garden with him?
Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden a new tomb wherein was never man yet laid.
It is like unto a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his own garden; and it grew, and became a tree; and the birds of the heaven lodged in the branches thereof.
And they come unto {Greek: an enclosed piece of ground.}a place which was named Gethsemane: and he saith unto his disciples, Sit ye here, while I pray.
Then cometh Jesus with them unto {Greek: an enclosed place of ground.}a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto his disciples, Sit ye here, while I go yonder and pray.
For on the day thou goest out, and passest over the brook Kidron, know thou for certain that thou shalt surely die: thy blood shall be upon thine own head.
And also Maacah his mother he removed from being {Or, queen mother}queen, because she had made an abominable image {Or, for Asherah}for an Asherah; and Asa cut down her image, and burnt it at the brook Kidron.
And the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, and the priests of the second order, and the keepers of the threshold, to bring forth out of the temple of Jehovah all the vessels that were made for Baal, and for the Asherah, and for all the host of heaven, and he burned them without Jerusalem in the fields of the Kidron, and carried the ashes of them unto Beth-el.
And the priests went in unto the inner part of the house of Jehovah, to cleanse it, and brought out all the uncleanness that they found in the temple of Jehovah into the court of the house of Jehovah. And the Levites took it, to carry it out abroad to the brook Kidron.
And the whole valley of the dead bodies and of the ashes, and all the fields unto the brook Kidron, unto the corner of the horse gate toward the east, shall be holy unto Jehovah; it shall not be plucked up, nor thrown down any more for ever.
