Versliste
He came unto {Greek: his own things}his own, and they that were his own received him not.
He shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth,A morning without clouds,When the tender grass springeth out of the earth,Through clear shining after rain.
But unto you that fear my name shall the sun of righteousness arise with healing in its {Or, beams}wings; and ye shall go forth, and gambol as calves of the stall.
For Jehovah hath chosen Zion;He hath desired it for his habitation.
This is my resting-place for ever:Here will I dwell; for I have desired it.
I will {Or, surely}abundantly bless her provision:I will satisfy her poor with bread.
And straightway he constrained the disciples to enter into the boat, and to go before him unto the other side, till he should send the multitudes away.
And after he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into the mountain apart to pray: and when even was come, he was there alone.
But the boat {Some ancient authorities read was many furlongs distant from the land.}was now in the midst of the sea, distressed by the waves; for the wind was contrary.
And in the fourth watch of the night he came unto them, walking upon the sea.
And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a ghost; and they cried out for fear.
But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.
And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee upon the waters.
And he said, Come. And Peter went down from the boat, and walked upon the waters {Some ancient authorities read and came.}to come to Jesus.
But when he saw the {Many ancient authorities add strong.}wind, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying, Lord, save me.
And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and took hold of him, and saith unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
And when they were gone up into the boat, the wind ceased.
And they that were in the boat {See marginal note on chapter 2:2.}worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.
And when they had crossed over, they came to the land, unto Gennesaret.
And when the men of that place knew him, they sent into all that region round about, and brought unto him all that were sick;
and they besought him that they might only touch the border of his garment: and as many as touched were made whole.
Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.
delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom I send thee,
to open their eyes, {Or, to turn them}that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive remission of sins and an inheritance among them that are sanctified by faith in me.
that sendeth ambassadors by the sea, {Or, and}even in vessels of papyrus upon the waters, saying, Go, ye swift messengers, to a nation {Or, dragged away and peeled}tall and smooth, to a people terrible from their beginning onward, a nation {Or, meted out and trodden down Hebrew: of line, line, and of treading down.}that meteth out and treadeth down, whose land the rivers {Or, have despoiled}divide!
Arise, O Jehovah, in thine anger;Lift up thyself against the rage of mine adversaries,And awake for me; thou hast commanded judgment.
{Or, So shall}And let the congregation of the peoples compass thee about;And over them return thou on high.
And therefore will Jehovah wait, that he may be gracious unto you; and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for Jehovah is a God of justice; blessed are all they that wait for him.
For {Or, O people that dwellest in Zion at Jerusalem}the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem; thou shalt weep no more; he will surely be gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear, he will answer thee.
{Or, And then will the Lord give you bread in adversity and water in affliction: and thy teachers shall not &c.}And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy {Or, teacher}teachers {Or, hide themselves}be hidden anymore, but thine eyes shall see thy {Or, teacher}teachers;
and thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it; when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.
And ye shall defile the overlaying of thy graven images of silver, and the plating of thy molten images of gold: thou shalt {Hebrew: scatter.}cast them away as an {Hebrew: menstruous.}unclean thing; thou shalt say unto it, Get thee hence.
And he will give the rain for thy seed, wherewith thou shalt sow the ground; and bread of the increase of the ground, and it shall be fat and plenteous. In that day shall thy cattle feed in large pastures;
the oxen likewise and the young asses that till the ground shall eat {Hebrew: salted.}savory provender, which hath been winnowed with the shovel and with the fork.
And there shall be upon every lofty mountain, and upon every high hill, brooks and streams of waters, in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall.
Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that Jehovah bindeth up the hurt of his people, and healeth the stroke of their wound.
The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the {Or, autumn crocus See 2 Samuel 2:1.}rose.
It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing; the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon: they shall see the glory of Jehovah, the excellency of our God.
Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the {Or, tottering}feeble knees.
Say to them that are of a {Hebrew: hasty.}fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: {Or, behold, your God! vengeance will come, even the recompense of God}behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God; he will come and save you.
Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.
Then shall the lame man leap as a hart, and the tongue of the dumb shall sing; for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.
And the {Or, mirage}glowing sand shall become a pool, and the thirsty ground springs of water: in the habitation of jackals, where they lay, shall be {Or, a court for reeds &c. See chapter 34:13.}grass with reeds and rushes.
And a highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but is shall be for {Hebrew: them.}the redeemed: the wayfaring men, yea fools, shall not err therein.
No lion shall be there, nor shall any ravenous beast go up thereon; they shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there:
and the ransomed of Jehovah shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their heads: they shall obtain gladness and joy, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
A Psalm of David.Bless Jehovah, O my soul;And all that is within me, bless his holy name.
Bless Jehovah, O my soul,And forget not all his benefits:
Who forgiveth all thine iniquities;Who healeth all thy diseases;
Who redeemeth thy life from {Or, the pit}destruction;Who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
Who satisfieth {Or, thy years Or, thy prime Hebrew: thine ornament.}thy desire with good things,So that thy youth is renewed like the eagle.
I will {Or, surely}abundantly bless her provision:I will satisfy her poor with bread.
For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until her righteousness go forth as brightness, and her salvation as a lamp that burneth.
And the nations shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory, and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of Jehovah shall name.
Thou shalt also be a crown of beauty in the hand of Jehovah, and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God.
Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate: but thou shalt be called {That is, My delight is in her}Hephzi-bah, and thy land {That is, Married}Beulah; for Jehovah delighteth in thee, and thy land shall be married.
For as a young man marrieth a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee; and {Hebrew: with the joy of the bridegroom.}as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee.
I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem; they shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that are Jehovah's remembrancers, {Or, keep not silence}take ye no rest,
and give him no {Hebrew: silence.}rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth.
Jehovah hath sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength, Surely I will no more give thy grain to be food for thine enemies; and foreigners shall not drink thy new wine, for which thou hast labored:
but they that have garnered it shall eat it, and praise Jehovah; and they that have gathered it shall drink it in the courts of my sanctuary.
Go through, go through the gates; prepare ye the way of the people; cast up, cast up the highway; gather out the stones; lift up an ensign {Or, over}for the peoples.

And five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall chase ten thousand; and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword.

And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations that came against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship the King, Jehovah of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
And it shall be, that whoso of all the families of the earth goeth not up unto Jerusalem to worship the King, Jehovah of hosts, upon them there shall be no rain.
And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, neither shall it be upon them; there shall be the plague wherewith Jehovah will smite the nations that go not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.
This shall be the {Or, sin}punishment of Egypt, and the {Or, sin}punishment of all the nations that go not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.
Blessed be Jehovah God, the God of Israel,Who only doeth wondrous things:
And blessed be his glorious name for ever;And let the whole earth be filled with his glory.Amen, and Amen.
