So the tongue also is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, {Or, how great a forest}how much wood is kindled by how small a fire!

whereunto I labor also, striving according to his working, which worketh in me {Or, in power}mightily.
And when {Greek: the}this epistle hath been read among you, cause that it be read also in the church of the Laodiceans; and that ye also read the epistle from Laodicea.
For I bear him witness, that he hath much labor for you, and for them in Laodicea, and for them in Hierapolis.
And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God:
For I bear him witness, that he hath much labor for you, and for them in Laodicea, and for them in Hierapolis.
Am I not free? am I not an apostle? have I not seen Jesus our Lord? are not ye my work in the Lord?
No man hath seen God at any time; {Many very ancient authorities read God only begotten.}the only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
And when the voice {Or, was past}came, Jesus was found alone. And they held their peace, and told no man in those days any of the things which they had seen.
