I clothed thee also with broidered work, and shod thee with {Or, porpoise-skin}sealskin, and I {Or, bound thee with attire of fine linen}girded thee about with fine linen, and covered thee with silk.
But the father said to his {Greek: bondservants.}servants, Bring forth quickly the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:
Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin:
How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace, that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation, that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!
to wit, that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself, not reckoning unto them their trespasses, and having {Or, placed in us}committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
And {Some ancient authorities read he.}Jesus went about in all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the {Or, good tidings: and so elsewhere.}gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of disease and all manner of sickness among the people.
And when he was come out from thence, the scribes and the Pharisees began to {Or, set themselves vehemently against him}press upon him vehemently, and to provoke him to speak of {Or, more}many things;
laying wait for him, to catch something out of his mouth.
For consider him that hath endured such gainsaying of sinners against {Many ancient authorities read themselves. Compare Numbers 16:38.}himself, that ye wax not weary, fainting in your souls.
even Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed him with the Holy Spirit and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
