Even as Abraham {Genesis 15:6.}believed God, and it was reckoned unto him for righteousness.
{Or, Ye perceive}Know therefore that they that are of faith, the same are sons of Abraham.
And the scripture, foreseeing that God {Greek: justifieth.}would justify the {Greek: nations.}Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand unto Abraham, saying, {Genesis 12:3.}In thee shall all the nations be blessed.
So then they that are of faith are blessed with the faithful Abraham.
They answered and said unto him, Our father is Abraham. Jesus saith unto them, If ye {Greek: are}were Abraham's children, {Some ancient authorities read ye do the works of Abraham.}ye would do the works of Abraham.
Cursed be he that confirmeth not the words of this law to do them. And all the people shall say, Amen.
For as many as are of the works of the law are under a curse: for it is written, {Deuteronomy 27:26.}Cursed is every one who continueth not in all things that are written in the book of the law, to do them.
