And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and opened her womb.
And she conceived, and bare a son: and said, God hath taken away my reproach:
And he said, Is not he rightly named Jacob? for he hath supplanted me these two times: he took away my birthright; and, behold, now he hath taken away my blessing. And he said, Hast thou not reserved a blessing for me?
And Abraham said unto his servant, the elder of his house, that ruled over all that he had, Put, I pray thee, thy hand under my thigh:
And by a prophet Jehovah brought Israel up out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he {Or, kept}preserved.
Now Laban was gone to shear his sheep: and Rachel stole the teraphim that were her father's.
With whomsoever thou findest thy gods, he shall not live: before our brethren discern thou what is thine with me, and take it to thee. For Jacob knew not that Rachel had stolen them.
Then Jacob said unto his household, and to all that were with him, Put away the foreign gods that are among you, and purify yourselves, and change your garments:
And when Rachel saw that she bare Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister; and she said unto Jacob, Give me children, or else I die.
And her rival provoked her sore, to make her fret, because Jehovah had shut up her womb.
And they rose up in the morning early, and worshipped before Jehovah, and returned, and came to their house to Ramah: and Elkanah knew Hannah his wife; and Jehovah remembered her;
And God remembered Noah, and all the beasts, and all the cattle that were with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters assuaged;
And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.
And God saw the children of Israel, and God took knowledge of them.
And Rachel said, God hath {Hebrew: dan, he judged.}judged me, and hath also heard my voice, and hath given me a son: therefore called she his name Dan.
The angel of Jehovah encampeth round about them that fear him,And delivereth them.
And it shall come to pass that, before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.
And call upon me in the day of trouble:I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

And the seven years of plenty, that was in the land of Egypt, came to an end.

And all countries came into Egypt to Joseph to buy grain, because the famine was sore in all the earth.
And the sons of Reuben the first-born of Israel (for he was the first-born; but, forasmuch as he defiled his father's couch, his birthright was given unto the sons of Joseph the son of Israel; and the genealogy is not to be reckoned after the birthright.
