Vers

1 wird geladen ... Now the Philistines fought against Israel: and the men of Israel fled from before the Philistines, and fell down {Or, wounded}slain in mount Gilboa.

2 wird geladen ... And the Philistines followed hard upon Saul and upon his sons; and the Philistines slew Jonathan, and {In chapter 14:49. Ishvi.}Abinadab, and Malchi-shua, the sons of Saul.

3 wird geladen ... And the battle went sore against Saul, and the archers overtook him; and he was greatly distressed by reason of the archers.

4 wird geladen ... Then said Saul to his armorbearer, Draw thy sword, and thrust me through therewith, lest these uncircumcised come and thrust me through, and {Or, make a mock of me}abuse me. But his armorbearer would not; for he was sore afraid. Therefore Saul took his sword, and fell upon it.

5 wird geladen ... And when his armorbearer saw that Saul was dead, he likewise fell upon his sword, and died with him.

6 wird geladen ... So Saul died, and his three sons, and his armorbearer, and all his men, that same day together.

7 wird geladen ... And when the men of Israel that were on the other side of the valley, and they that were beyond the Jordan, saw that the men of Israel fled, and that Saul and his sons were dead, they forsook the cities, and fled; and the Philistines came and dwelt in them.

8 wird geladen ... And it came to pass on the morrow, when the Philistines came to strip the slain, that they found Saul and his three sons fallen in mount Gilboa.

9 wird geladen ... And they cut off his head, and stripped off his armor, and sent into the land of the Philistines round about, to carry the tidings unto the house of their idols, and to the people.

10 wird geladen ... And they put his armor in the house of the Ashtaroth; and they fastened his body to the wall of Beth-shan.

11 wird geladen ... And when the inhabitants of Jabesh-gilead heard concerning him that which the Philistines had done to Saul,

12 wird geladen ... all the valiant men arose, and went all night, and took the body of Saul and the bodies of his sons from the wall of Beth-shan; and they came to Jabesh, and burnt them there.

13 wird geladen ... And they took their bones, and buried them under the tamarisk-tree in Jabesh, and fasted seven days.

1Sam 14,4 wird geladen ... And between the passes, by which Jonathan sought to go over unto the Philistines' garrison, there was a rocky crag on the one side, and a rocky crag on the other side: and the name of the one was Bozez, and the name of the other Seneh.

1Sam 14,6 wird geladen ... And Jonathan said to the young man that bare his armor, Come, and let us go over unto the garrison of these uncircumcised: it may be that Jehovah will work for us; for there is no restraint to Jehovah to save by many or by few.

1Sam 14,7 wird geladen ... And his armorbearer said unto him, Do all that is in thy heart: turn thee, behold, I am with thee according to thy heart.

1Sam 14,8 wird geladen ... Then said Jonathan, Behold, we will pass over unto the men, and we will disclose ourselves unto them.

1Sam 14,9 wird geladen ... If they say thus unto us, Tarry until we come to you; then we will stand still in our place, and will not go up unto them.

1Sam 14,10 wird geladen ... But if they say thus, Come up unto us; then we will go up; for Jehovah hath delivered them into our hand: and this shall be the sign unto us.

1Sam 14,11 wird geladen ... And both of them disclosed themselves unto the garrison of the Philistines: and the Philistines said, Behold, the Hebrews come forth out of the holes where they had hid themselves.

1Sam 14,12 wird geladen ... And the men of the garrison answered Jonathan and his armorbearer, and said, Come up to us, and we will show you a thing. And Jonathan said unto his armorbearer, Come up after me; for Jehovah hath delivered them into the hand of Israel.

1Sam 14,13 wird geladen ... And Jonathan climbed up upon his hands and upon his feet, and his armorbearer after him: and they fell before Jonathan; and his armorbearer slew them after him.

1Sam 14,14 wird geladen ... And that first slaughter, which Jonathan and his armorbearer made, was about twenty men, within as it were {Or, half an acre of land}half a furrow's length in an acre of land.
