Faithful is the saying, and concerning these things I desire that thou affirm confidently, to the end that they who have believed God may be careful to {Or, profess honest occupations}maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men:
that ye may walk becomingly toward them that are without, and may have need of nothing.
For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, If any will not work, neither let him eat.
For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.
and have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even {Or, convict}reprove them;
