These also are sayings of the wise.To have respect of persons in judgment is not good.
He that saith unto the wicked,Thou art righteous,Peoples shall curse him, nations shall abhor him;
But to them that rebuke him shall be delight,And a good blessing shall come upon them.
He {Or, kisseth with the lips}kisseth the lipsWho giveth a right answer.
To respect the person of the wicked is not good, {Or, So as to turn aside}Nor to turn aside the righteous in judgment.
Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty; but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbor.
Thou shalt not wrest justice: thou shalt not respect persons; neither shalt thou take a bribe; for a bribe doth blind the eyes of the wise, and pervert the {Or, cause}words of the righteous.
Kiss the son, lest he be angry, and ye perish in the way,For his wrath {Or, may}will soon be kindled. {Or, Happy}Blessed are all they that take refuge in him.
