Versliste
For Jehovah giveth wisdom;Out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding:
He layeth up sound wisdom for the upright; {Or, And a shield for &c.}He is a shield to them that walk in integrity;
{Or, That they may keep}That he may guard the paths of justice, {Or, Yea he preserveth}And preserve the way of his saints.
Then shalt thou understand righteousness and justice,And equity, yea, every good path.
For wisdom shall enter into thy heart,And knowledge shall be pleasant unto thy soul;
Discretion shall watch over thee;Understanding shall keep thee:
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
After these things the word of Jehovah came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, {Or, thy reward shall be exceeding great}and thy exceeding great reward.
Happy art thou, O Israel:Who is like unto thee, a people saved by Jehovah,The shield of thy help,And the sword of thy excellency!And thine enemies shall {Or, yield feigned obedience}submit themselves unto thee;And thou shalt tread upon their high places.
To receive instruction in wise dealing,In righteousness and justice and equity;
as newborn babes, long for the {Greek: belonging to the reason. Compare Romans 12:1.}spiritual milk which is without guile, that ye may grow thereby unto salvation;
To give prudence to the simple,To the young man knowledge and discretion:
That the wise man may hear, and increase in learning;And that the man of understanding may attain unto sound counsels:
