Versliste
and hope putteth not to shame; because the love of God hath been {Greek: poured out.}shed abroad in our hearts through the Holy Spirit which was given unto us.
in whom ye also, having heard the word of the truth, the {Or, good tidings. See marginal note on Matthew 4:23.}gospel of your salvation,— in whom, having also believed, ye were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,
and the priest shall put of the oil that is in his hand upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot, upon the place of the blood of the trespass-offering:

{Or, seeing that he both sealed us}who also sealed us, and gave us the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.
Or know ye not that your body is a {Or, sanctuary}temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which ye have from God? and ye are not your own;
And I will {Greek: make request of.}pray the Father, and he shall give you another {Or, Advocate Or, Helper Greek: Paraclete.}Comforter, that he may be with you for ever,
And I will {Greek: make request of.}pray the Father, and he shall give you another {Or, Advocate Or, Helper Greek: Paraclete.}Comforter, that he may be with you for ever,
Then will I teach transgressors thy ways;And sinners shall {Or, return}be converted unto thee.

And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, in whom ye were sealed unto the day of redemption.
