They know not, neither do they understand;They walk to and fro in darkness:All the foundations of the earth are shaken.
I said, Ye are gods,And all of you sons of the Most High.
Nevertheless ye shall die like men,And fall like one of the princes.
ye who hate the good, and love the evil; who pluck off their skin from off them, and their flesh from off their bones;
For, lo, the wicked bend the bow,They make ready their arrow upon the string,That they may shoot in darkness at the upright in heart;
{Or, For the foundations are destroyed; What hath the righteous wrought?}If the foundations be destroyed,What can the righteous do?
And brother shall deliver up brother to death, and the father his child: and children shall rise up against parents, and {Or, put them to death}cause them to be put to death.
All they shall answer and say unto thee, Art thou also become weak as we? art thou become like unto us?
How art thou fallen from heaven, O day-star, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, that didst lay low the nations!
And strangers, the terrible of the nations, have cut him off, and have left him: upon the mountains and in all the valleys his branches are fallen, and his boughs are broken by all the watercourses of the land; and all the peoples of the earth are gone down from his shadow, and have left him.
Upon his ruin all the birds of the heavens shall dwell, and all the beasts of the field shall be upon his branches;
to the end that none of all the trees by the waters exalt themselves in their stature, neither set their top among the thick boughs, nor that their mighty ones stand up on their height, even all that drink water: for they are all delivered unto death, to the nether parts of the earth, in the midst of the children of men, with them that go down to the pit.
