Versliste
Sing unto Jehovah with thanksgiving;Sing praises upon the harp unto our God,
Who covereth the heavens with clouds,Who prepareth rain for the earth,Who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.
He giveth to the beast his food,And to the young ravens which cry.
He delighteth not in the strength of the horse:He taketh no pleasure in the legs of a man.
Jehovah taketh pleasure in them that fear him,In those that hope in his lovingkindness.
Who provideth for the raven his prey,When his young ones cry unto God, And wander for lack of food?
Behold the birds of the heaven, that they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; and your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are not ye of much more value than they?
Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? and not one of them shall fall on the ground without your Father:
but the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.
The eyes of all wait for thee;And thou givest them their food in due season.
Thou openest thy hand,And {Or, satisfiest every living thing with favor}satisfiest the desire of every living thing.
And {Or, refuge shall fail the swift}flight shall perish from the swift; and the strong shall not strengthen his force; neither shall the mighty deliver {Hebrew: his soul (or, life).}himself;
neither shall he stand that handleth the bow; and he that is swift of foot shall not deliver himself; neither shall he that rideth the horse deliver {Hebrew: his soul (or, life).}himself;
Only he shall not multiply horses to himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt, to the end that he may multiply horses; forasmuch as Jehovah hath said unto you, Ye shall henceforth return no more that way.
Some trust in chariots, and some in horses;But we will make mention of the name of Jehovah our God.
