And it came to pass when Jesus had finished these words, he departed from Galilee, and came into the borders of Judæa beyond the Jordan;
And it came to pass, {Or, as he was}as they were on the way to Jerusalem, that he was passing {Or, through the mist of &c.}along the borders of Samaria and Galilee.
Jesus therefore walked no more openly among the Jews, but departed thence into the country near to the wilderness, into a city called Ephraim; and there he tarried with the disciples.
And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good save one, even God.
For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, {Some ancient authorities omit and shall cleave to his wife.}and shall cleave to his wife;
and the two shall become one flesh: so that they are no more two, but one flesh.
What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
And in the house the disciples asked him again of this matter.
And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her:
