Now shalt thou gather thyself in troops, O daughter of troops: he hath laid siege against us; they shall smite the judge of Israel with a rod upon the cheek.
And they spat upon him, and took the reed and smote him on the head.
And some began to spit on him, and to cover his face, and to buffet him, and to say unto him, Prophesy: and the officers received him with {Or, strokes of rods}blows of their hands.
And the men that held {Greek: him.}Jesus mocked him, and beat him.
And they blindfolded him, and asked him, saying, Prophesy: who is he that struck thee?
and they came unto him, and said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they struck him {Or, with rods}with their hands.
and through him to reconcile all things {Or, into him}unto {Or, him}himself, having made peace through the blood of his cross; through him, I say, whether things upon the earth, or things in the heavens.
For he is our peace, who made both one, and brake down the middle wall of partition,
