And he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house;
Now as he spake, a Pharisee asketh him to {Greek: breakfast.}dine with him: and he went in, and sat down to meat.
And it came to pass, when he went into the house of one of the rulers of the Pharisees on a sabbath to eat bread, that they were watching him.
And Levi made him a great feast in his house: and there was a great multitude of {See marginal note on chapter 3:12.}publicans and of others that were sitting at meat with them.
And it came to pass, that he was sitting at meat in his house, and many {That is, collectors or renters of Roman taxes.}publicans and sinners sat down with Jesus and his disciples: for there were many, and they followed him.
And it came to pass, as he {Greek: reclined and so always.}sat at meat in the house, behold, many {See marginal note on chapter 5:46.}publicans and sinners came and sat down with Jesus and his disciples.
And as many as receive you not, when ye depart from that city, shake off the dust from your feet for a testimony against them.
